I don’t recall entering the Mini 3 Wifi password.
However, if I start the DJI Fly app the Mini 3 will automatically connect to my iPhone Wifi.
But if I tried to connect the Mini 3  from the setting menu, it will  ask me for the password which I don’t know thus I can’t connect.

The problem  occured when I go to the flying field because I fly with the DJI RC and in order to get the internet connection, I have to use my iPhone as a Hot Spot. This means I have to connect my iPhone to the Mini 3 first.

I only remember that I have to enter the Mini 3 and DJI RC combo serial number to setup.

So, where is the Mini 3 Wifi password then?

Thanks

I have the mini 3 so can explain. When you connect your phone to the mini 3 for quick transfer there is no password. You just have to allow the connection on your phone.

When at the field and wanting to connect the DJI RC to WiFi you just need the WiFi password of what ever you are connecting to. If it is a mobile router it will be its password and if it is your phones hot spot it will be its password assuming you have set one

Yeah, but i beat you to it and it far less words ya condescending fool, see, i don't need to have the drone to be able to help others

Is not a password when you connect for Fast Transfer.
As you press for 2 secs the power button, is entering in Wifi WPS mode.
So will forward to your phone the data and connect automatically, like when you press on a router the WPS button and connect.
Cheers.

If you’re talking about flying, you don’t need a password to fly. However you do need to be signed into your dji account. This you can do from your phone or just stay signed in to your account at all times. If this is wrong ignore.

No you are confused. This is where you went wrong.

This means I have to connect my iPhone to the Mini 3 first.

You have to connect your DJI RC to your phone. Not the drone.

So go into settings on the DJI RC and connect it to your phones wifi Hotspot.

Thanks all for the reply.

I will try them all and let you know which one works.

Also can someone tell me the exact step which one I should turn on first or it doesn’t matter. (The Mini 3,  DJI RC and the iPhone).

I am thinking of using a portable cordless fan to blow the Mini 3 while sittingfor setup because it overheat time out on me several times.

Why to connect the drone to the phone? For which purpose? You have to connect the dji rc to the phone (to the hotspot wifi network created by your phone ndr) . All the steps you need:
1) Turn on hotsptot wifi function on your iphone
2) Turn on your dji rc and wait for it to connect to your iphone
3) On the dji flyapp click on the bottom right to start the connection with the drone
4) Turn on your drone!
Done!

Your best bet would be to remove the SD card from the aircraft and go that route. This will also prevent your drone from overheating, which will extend the life and cause you less trouble over the life of the hardware.

The quick transfer way doesn't need any password. You just turn on the drone first (dji rc off obviusly)...you open the flyapp on your iphone...the app will ask you to click and hold for 2 second the button on your drone...that's all! No password...nothing! Remember to have your iphone wifi and bluetooth both on. You said about to watch video on tv....how? From iphone to the tv? And how you connect your iphone to the tv ? You can't do it while its connected to the drone.....

Good advice. I already ordered the sd to lightening adapter so that I can remove the card from the drone and download the files onto my iPhone.

Some reviews said not all adapter work and some won’t even do the video but just the photos.
I ordered 2 different ones to try them out.

Thanks much

Oh well, unfortunately neither of them works!!
It will do for the photos but not the video whether it’s MP4 or MOV format.
I have to find different methods.

Note: Apple certified or not, no good. One is $9.00 and the other is $30.00.

Stil think it would be way easier to first use Quicktransfer from the drone to your iPhone and then stream the videos to your TV.

Instruction for Quicktransfer are given above. So what didn’ t work with this approach.

Quicktransfer from drone to iPhone requires the drone to be ON all the time. The heat in the drone for a long time turns me off. Last time I did that I had to place my drone in front of the AC to keep it cool.
Also I need to turn the cellular OFF or the transfer will loop and fail.
Pulling sd card out seems to be a better method but….

The new FW claims to address the heat problem in Quicktransfer.
Not sure, why you need to turn off cellular. Keep my thumbs crossed, that you find the right cardreader for your phone.

I was told that is the known issue which you need to turn the cellular OFF in some area otherwise downloading  will loop and never finish. That happened to me at first but after turning off the cellular it worked fine.

I’ll keep looking for the SD card reader that  will work with  my iPhone

I have had a similar issue with downloading videos to my iphone. I realized the problem was that my iphone could not download D-Cinelike videos. Only the other videos. Once I started recording without D-Cinelike, i was able to download all the videos to my iphone.

Hope that helps. All the adapters I have used worked well.

This is the adapter I use.

I just tried switching off the D-Cine but it still didn't work. The only one that I managed to downlaod is the 20 seconds long.

I bought the Apple adapter from Amazon and tried to return it. Amazon connected me to the Apple tech: first one couldn't solve so they connected me to the top tech who at first said that she could help me. Next thing she wanted to use screen mirror so she could take a look at my screen but she can only move her cursor around to let me know what to do next. We were on the phone for 30 minutes, trying to reset the wifi, reset the screen background catch as well as created a new folder in place of the default Imports, etc. to no avail. She was so surprised why it wouldn't work so at the end she send me the Open Case Number via email so that Amazon will give me the refund.
I ordered the one you mentioned and hope it work.

Thanks

No I did NOT.
But I think I finally figured this out today. Essentailly, you do NOT need to connect the Mini 3 with the phone via Wifi but with Bluetooth only.

Before you take off, make sure BOTH the DJI RC and the Mini 3 are connected to the phone via Bluetooth.

See steps below:

This is for at the field without Wi-Fi signal, so the iPhone will be used as the “Hot Spot”.

1.        Turn on iPhone
2.        Turn on DJI RC

From RC Home page press:
Swipe down twice to setup then press “…” (top right)
Connection device
Set up Bluetooth
Turn on Bluetooth
Pair new device
Select iPhone

Go back to Network & internet
Set up Wi-Fi
Turn on Wi-Fi

3.        Turn on Mini 3

Connect mini 3 to iPhone on Bluetooth
Both Mini 3 and RC should be connected to the iPhone by Bluetooth now.
If not connected go back to Set up Bluetooth above and
Pair new device: select Mini 3

On RC go to Go Fly then press “…” (top right)
Under Safety tab, select Unlock Geo Zone (scroll down on Safety tab)
Select aircraft and locking license and refresh
It should say “valid”
Or take off and follow screen prompt.

If error “Internet connection required” appears, go to iPhone and make sure that the DJI RC is connected to the iPhone via Bluetooth.Sometime, it got disconnected later!!!

Take off and follow screen prompt:
Check all boxes
Click OK, OK

Fly out to open area, stop
Update home point (set up, safety)
