Pool noodles, cut straight down one side. Zip tie to landing gear legs. Make sure you give clearance for gimble. Haven’t tried on water yet, doing that later today, flys great. Clears the sensors on bottom of drone, no alerts.

Thank you for the concern. It floats well,but need to place a little extra foam on the front since I moved the tubes back to clear the gimble, it is a little front heavy. I am working on and additional mod to correct this flaw.

It did as seen in pics. I moved the tubes back a bit to clear gimble movement and it seem to work fine. As for the sensors, it does not set them off nor interfere with their operations. It is a bit front heavy since moving tubes back and am in the process of an additional mod to add more tapered foam onto the front to lift it up about 1” to accommodate the unbalanced weight distribution in the front. More work to come. I only use it in calm waters so far.  I now plan to use the bathtub for further testing so that I can make quick adjustments of the fly without the running around to the lake each time. I do have some wider legged landing gear on the way for testing to give it a wider base to land on. Good luck if you are going to do the mod at the risk of getting the unit wet.

Cool water landing gear, I saw some guy on Amazon selling something like that but for the Mavic 3 and I was considering getting it not for taking off or landing from water but just in case my drone for some reason hit the water it wouldn’t sink but rather just float that way I could retrieve it.

Understand, floating is dependent upon the weight of the drone. I have seen some of those small floaters and would not trust them. You see the pool noodles are larger than anything I could find. I just need to tweak the front of the noodles to raise the front end up to compensate for the front loaded weight of the drone. Do you have a link to the product you spoke of? I would like to check it out. My proto type needs a bit of work, but it is going to work. Give me a link of that product.

I don’t have the link but if you just go on Amazon and search Mavic 3 accessories and scroll down just a little it should pop up and maybe you could find one from the maker would had one for the Air 2.

I wouldn’t use these for floating, but for landing would be ok. FYI, make sure you reset the propellers to the lock position. When landing with these foam tubes, the blades will come out of the lock position and may cause flying issues. It happened with mine. I just double check before each take off. I also , with a sharpie, put arrows on the blades. This helped to see them out of lock. See pic.
