As I described long time ago here https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=242753
band 5.8 is approved for use by drones in Israel, However, it is disabled on the Mini 3 pro (and, as far as I know, on other DJI drones as well).
Here https://www.dji.com/mini-3-pro/specs it even says 5.8 is not available in Israel, it is simply not true, please fix this. All official regulatory data in my abovementioned post.

DJI, any update on when band 5.8 dill be enabled ion the DJI drones n Israel?

And will help you with.... ?
The 5.8GHz is good when you can benefit from more quality video on RC, but the 2.4GHz is penetrating further.
On Autel the Evo2Pro V1 have no 5.8GHz, but on 2.4GHz the signal was very stable everywhere, even in a big city....never had  a need for 5.8Ghz on it...
So...

In my case, I see 2.4 is pretty busy in the city, while 5.8 is relatively free, as reported by my phone. So I expect 5.8 will give me better range in the city. and overall, more choice is better.

Max 300m on 5.8Ghz. and very sensitive to any obstacle and penetration in 5.8 Ghz is very weak.

You can try to see if will work with Fake GPS, and see if is any difference, I say will not be.

Better go to FCC hack...is on 2.8Ghz, boosting signal x2...will give you the real deal.

I can confirm 5.8Ghz is far better in my testing. I live in Israel and own the mini 3 Pro w/DJI RC (purchased it a few days ago).
tried flying it on 2.4Ghz in the city and got terrible range issues (couldn't go over 400m. on the contrary with the 5.8Ghz i got over 1k (haven't tried pushing it further) and also the RC signal bars were much more stable with the 5.8Ghz.

The next day decided to do a range test out in the open (mountain area). with clear visual path between the RC and the drone:With 2.4Ghz I reached to about 3km until i got to the red signal bar.
With 5.8Ghz i reached a whooping 7km. I probably could had gone further if i climbed a bit more  ( I had 3 yellow bars at 7km at altitude of 60m) but I returned back home as my battery was at 50% (I was scared to lose the drone - I landed back at home with 20% battery).
So for sure 5.8Ghz is far more stable and range with my few tests

P.S. All my flights were on FCC mode
I might do a youtube video on the tests

The new RC can go to FCC, but you need to pair first a RC-N1 with FCC mode enabled...then just keep the drone running, change the RC paired. Will keep the FCC band.

Now that AVATA has been approved for use in Israel, there is no justification for continuing to leave the models that support 5.8 unapproved for use in Israel. DJI, the community of users in Israel expect your proper support, to lead an official call to the Ministry of Communications to settle the matter.

Actually, from what i remember, in  FCC  mode, 2.4 and 5.8 have the same power, its CE where there is a big power difference between the 2 bands.

This is about FCC mode, not about 5.8GHz band. In video, drone has 5.8GHz band enabled before applying hack. And, besides this is a hack, process of starting your drone becomes long and complicated.

Now Avata is on sale in Israel by official DJI importer - see https://www.dji-store.co.il/stor ... ata-pro-view-combo/
Avata works exclusively on 5.8GHz band, according to its specs, Tx enabled on 5.8 only, from https://www.dji.com/avata/specs:

Video Transmission
Communication Frequency
2.400-2.4835 GHz (RX only)
5.725-5.850 GHz (RX and TX) [4]

This mean DJI knows it can operate 5.8GHz in Israel. So, question is -
when we will see 5.8GHz band enabled on other drones?

Hi there. Currently, the 5.8 GHz frequency band is not supported in Israel. In other countries, when the aircraft is connected to the local network, the network IP will be automatically identified to configure the country code. After configuration, the 5.8 GHz channel will be displayed. Thank you for understanding.

Is there any update ?
i have a mavis air 2S, no 5.8Ghz.
I bought a Mavic mini 4 Pro, there is 5.8Ghz transmission, so DJI is aware that 5.8 is allowed in Israel, but why they didnt enable it for "older" devices ?

Hi there,
The 5.8 GHz frequency band is not used as a civil radio frequency band in Israel. Therefore, the aircraft cannot use 5.8 GHz in it.

Hi, I am sorry to say this, but your claim is just false. 5.8GHz frequency band IS allowed in Israel, see regulatory document I provided in this forum long time ago. https://www.nevo.co.il/Handlers/LawOpenDoc.ashx?id=199708
Document is in Hebrew but Google translate helps here
Please let DJI regulatory team see this document and update drone policy accordingly

You are wrong.
i have 2 drones,
The mini 4 Pro, works in Israel in Dualband mode out of the box.
The Air 2S with a latest firmware, only works in 2.4 and cant change it.
So, my conclusion is:
DJI is well know that 5.8Ghz are allowed in Israel, they just didnt want to enable it on the "old" devices firmware.

Initial request was about Mini 3 Pro, and this branch in the forum is dedicated to the Mini 3 Pro.
I think it is fair to say request is general, about all DJI drones. All drones capable to use 5.8GHz should be permitted to do so

Thanks, hope we we see an updated firmware soon for Air2S and other drones that didn't have 5.8Ghz enabled in Israel. I"m sure that many costumers will say a big thanks to enabled 5.8 Band, because the 2.4Ghz band is very busy here.
