I bought the Cynova adapter. Fits fine.
Tried three different mics with no luck.

Yes, latest firmware.
Yes, the little mic icon appears on screen.

Every single google referencing the issue all say the same thing.  It sucks!!  So here is my last attempt before I request a refund from DJI.

All I get is a buzzing sound. I’ve tried
1)My headphones with a mic
2)A sennheiser
3)A saramonic

All produce the same terrible buzz/static noise.

Thoughts?

Won’t let me upload the video with the (buzz/static) sound.
Anyway, just tried a fourth TRS mic with no luck. Ridiculous.  Notice this is a constant issue with no real solution from DJI. Just the runaround.
Will DJI permit a refund 7 months later?

Sorry, unclear what you are saying.
That mic doesn’t seem available in Canada.

that will fix the issue then  thinking it is the camera and mic fault.  another trick we can do is take only a  TRS headset and  you can talk into it.

Two more microphones didn’t work. Sigh
-Joby Wavo Mobile Microphone - JB01643
-Sony Compact Stereo Lavalier Microphone - Black - ECMLV1

Confirmed both are TRS

All the complaints about this being $&@%#€ing ridiculous are warranted. I’ll be contacting DJI for a refund.

Never had any problem with buzzing sound with my cynova adapter and I use cheap TRS mics from ebay. If I plug in a TRRS mic like you do, then there is no sound at all.

What user error?  As stated I used TRS mics (reading is hard I guess). A couple of them.
But what user error?  Im dying to know.

I read what you wrote and maybe I miss read something. But your answer doesn't make me feel you are a grown up person. Especially since you didn't get that I am not a native english speaker if you check my country.

phone mics vs camera mics, do not get them confused

buzzing wnat ot hear, try the Saramonic, and rode, you get a High pitch sound.

its a mono set up, and wanting a true stereo is not DJI  they cut costs big time on budget cameras..

Thank you.  Unsure. I’m unaware of insta?
Perhaps if I tell you my purpose you can recommend?  I want it for hiking and for a Scooter so I can record video and my talking?

that be up to you, insta usees  CYNOVA, DJI uses CYNOVA, gopro uses gopro feel a gopro is a stereo product over the others. just my taste

never will, no longer required, why did you think it will work?   because DJI did not note t hat hte CYNOVA is not for the Action 3,  Poor  way to tell customers, that think old stuff works with new

Yes, you have to remove the rubber at the usb device. Then it can go in. And problem solved. A good advice, cut some tube from a bycykle and wrab around cam and the usb device. so it never will come lose, aka, ruin the shooting
