The DJI Avata Drone with a built-in propeller guard, is compact and portable. Thanks to its size, it can fly in both indoor and outdoor scenarios, hover like a hummingbird, and return to the home point automatically. Its camera has a 1/1.7''CMOS image sensor, and when working with its gimbal, it is capable of recording 4K 60fps ultra-high-definition videos. Its max hovering time approximates 18 minutes. The DJI Avata Drone adopts the most edge-cutting DJI O3+ image transmission technology, and can be used with two partners: the goggles and remote control device. In environments without interferences, its max transmission distance reaches 6 km (SRRC), max flight altitude 500 m, and max video bitrate 50 Mbps, bringing you a next-level immersive flight experience. DJI Goggles 2, with the high-performance dual display, can receive the image signals from the drone and sync its camera view in a real-time manner so that lets the user have the first-person view. · How to Remove the Gimbal Protector
[Important] Prior to powering on the drone, remove its gimbal protector. - During power-on, the gimbal vibrates and runs self-check*. If the gimbal protector isn't removed, it may damage the motor or affect its life expectancy, or even impact the flight safety (If the drone is powered on without activation, the gimbal will not vibrate and will not run self-check).
- To safeguard the camera lens and gimbal axis arm, you'd better mount the gimbal protector to the drone after each time of use.

· How to Understand the Aircraft Status IndicatorDifferent color indicates different status of the aircraft, and the blinking frequency as well. Please see below for the meaning of each status:
· How to Mount and Remove the PropellersAs we all know, there are two motor/propeller types: CW and CCW, and you can easily recognize it through the mark on each. Before mounting the propeller, better confirm the mark on each first.
Mount the Propellers 1. Recognize the propellers If the propeller is mounted in an improper way, the drone will not take off. Please see below for the difference between the propeller CW and CCW: ① CW ② CCW 2. Remove the propellers Use the given screwdriver to unscrew the screws securing the propeller, and then remove the propeller.

· How to Activate the DroneFor the first-time use, you need to download the DJI Fly app first, and then complete the product activation before use.
Step 1: Download the app It helps you activate the product and link it to other devices. Please scan the below QR code to download and install the app.
Step 2: Link the drone to other devices Before flight, you need to link the drone to the goggles and remote control device to realize flight control and image transmission.

1. Power on the drone, goggles, and remote control device. Press the power button once, and press and hold it for 2s to power on/off the device. 2. Press the link button on the goggles until it beeps. 3. Press and hold the power button on the drone until the battery level LEDs blink in sequence. 4. After successful linking, the drone's battery level LEDs turn solid, showing the actual battery level. Then, the goggles stop beeping, and image transmission can be displayed normally. 5. Link the drone to the remote control device. Press and hold the power button on the drone until the battery level LEDs blink in sequence. 6. Press and hold the power button on the remote control device until it starts to beep continually, and the battery level LEDs blink in sequence. 7. After successful linking, the battery level LEDs of both the drone and remote control device turn solid and display the actual battery level. Then, the remote control device stops beeping.
Step 3: Activate for the first time Ensure that the drone has been linked to the goggles and the remote control device successfully. Connect the USB-C port of the goggles to the mobile device, launch the DJI Fly app, and then complete the activation according to the on-screen instructions (network connection required the whole way through).

· Prepare the Drone Step 1: Remove the gimbal protector, and check if the microSD card and Type-C port cover has been attached properly. Step 2: Check the battery level of the flight battery, power it on, put the drone on a flat surface, and note that the drone should be forward-facing.

· How to Get it Charged · Choose an Adapter As DJI Avata does not come with an adapter, you can refer to the following operations: 1. Charge the drone and goggles: with a PD charger. The given USB-C to USB-C power cable is to be used with a PD charger. · If you need one, we recommend DJI 30W USB-C Charger. It will take around 90 minutes to get the drone fully charged, and around 100 minutes to get the goggles fully charged. 2. Charge the motion controller: with a micro USB charger connected to a Type-C cable (Fast charging is not supported). If being used with a 5V 2A charger, it will take around 2.5 hours to get the controller fully charged. · If you need one, please go to a third-party platform and search by “10W USB Charger”. · Please do not use a charger higher than 5V to charge DJI Motion Controller, especially fast charging power adapter. Otherwise, DJI Motion Controller will be damaged and cannot be used.

· Store the filesThe internal storage of the DJI Avata drone is 20 GB. Files are stored in the internal storage by default if a microSD card is not installed, and the drone can record 4K 60fps videos for around 18 minutes.

· DJI Goggles 2 (included in the Pro-View Combo) and DJI FPV Goggles V2 (included in the Fly Smart Combo) do not come with the internal storage, but can be equipped with a microSD card. After a memory card is installed, you can use it for shooting photos/videos, keeping cache files, and recording screen. If you won't use it for caching files or recording screen, the memory card is not a must.
· Install and remove a memory cardIf you have purchased a memory card, you can insert it into the black memory card adapter, which can be attached to the TF slot of the computer for further file transfer. Also, the memory card can be inserted into the drone without the card adapter. Please see below for how to install and remove a memory card: - Install memory card - Remove memory card
· Export the files(Please export the files when the aircraft is off.) The files are stored in two locations: cache files in the goggles' memory card, and persistent files in the drone's internal storage and memory card. Cache files: are recorded transmission view. Due to low clarity and low smoothness, the recorded videos use a little memory space and are easy to be previewed, or you can export them through connecting the goggles to the computer. Persistent files: are files shot by the drone camera. You can set higher resolution and frame rate, which make high-quality images. However, these files take a lot of space and you'd better download them for editing and sharing. You can export the files through connecting the USB-C port of the drone to the computer.

Note After files are exported, please be sure to cover the USB-C port and microSD card slot properly in case of any damage to the propeller.
· How to Update the FirmwareHere are two methods for updating the DJI Avata firmware: 1. (Recommended) Use the DJI Fly app to update the whole firmware package including the drone, goggles, and remote control device firmware. 2. Use the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to update each firmware separately.
- Update through DJI Fly First, power on the drone, goggles, and remote control device, and ensure all these devices are linked. Then, connect the USB-C port of the goggles to the mobile device, run the app, and update the firmware by following the on-screen prompts. Note that an internet connection is required the whole way through.
- Update through DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) 1. First, power on the drone, goggles, and remote control device, and ensure all these devices are linked. Connect the USB-C port of the device to the computer using the USB-C cable. 2. Launch DJI Assistant 2, and log in by using your DJI account. 3. Click the icon of the device, and click the "Firmware Update" option on the left. 4. Select and confirm the firmware version. 5. The software automatically helps download and update the firmware. 6. The device restarts itself after the firmware update is complete.

· How to Set the System Language of the Goggles
The following method is for DJI Goggles 2 and DJI FPV Goggles V2 use. Supported languages are as follows: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, French, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian Two methods for changing the system language: 1. Select the system language according to the on-screen instructions if you use the goggles for the first time. 2. Swipe right from the left of the touch panel to open the goggles menu, and then go to Settings > About to select the system language.
· Tips for Flight Safety
We've rounded up some coping tips for flight safety and we'd like to share them with you. There are four parts, including the Environmental Considerations, Pre-flight Checklist, Precautions During Flight, and How to Find Your Drone. We hope this can help someone in need.
· Environmental Considerations
1. Only fly in environments that are clear of magnetic or radio interference, buildings, and other obstacles.
2. Do not fly above or near large crowds.
3. Only fly in authorized areas. Stay well away from GEO zones and restricted zones to prevent your drone from entering these zones by mistake and getting flyaway.
4. It is not recommended to fly your drone in scenic spots, historical sites, parks, and the vicinity of government and military institutions. Although these places are not officially demarcated as restricted zones, they are very likely to be controlled areas. The signal of the remote controller may be lost during the flight if you fly the drone in these areas, and the drone may unexpectedly fly away.
5. Do not fly the aircraft near areas with magnetic or radio interference, including Wi-Fi hotspots, routers, Bluetooth devices, high-voltage lines, large-scale power transmission stations, radar stations, mobile base stations, and broadcasting towers. Otherwise, the wireless transmission performance of the aircraft may be affected by interference, and the aircraft cannot fly normally.
· Pre-flight Checklist
1. Make sure that the remote controller and aircraft batteries are fully charged. (It is recommended to fully charge the battery and then fly the drone.)
2. Make sure that the propellers are mounted properly. Check whether the propellers are broken or bent, and whether all the propellers are unfolded.
3. Connect your mobile device to the remote controller. Power on the remote controller first and then power on the aircraft. Unfold the remote controller antennas and check whether the remote controller is linked with the aircraft. Check whether there are any warnings shown under Aircraft Status in the app, such as compass, IMU, or vision sensors error). Check whether the image transmission signal is strong at the takeoff point. When "Ready to Go" is shown on the app screen and a "HomePoint updated" prompt is displayed, enjoy your flight.
4. It is recommended to set "No RC Signal Action" to "RTH" under the remote controller Settings in the app. (The aircraft will automatically return to the Home Point when the remote controller signal is lost.)
5. It is recommended to set the RTH Altitude higher than the height of obstacles in the surrounding environment to avoid collisions during RTH.
· Precautions During Flight
1. Make sure that the antenna of the remote controller is aligned with the flight direction of the aircraft during flight, and pay attention to the image transmission signal strength. If a warning stating that the signal is weak or lost is displayed in the app, please try adjusting the antenna to make it pointed in the direction of the aircraft.
2. Make sure that there are no obstacles between the remote controller and the aircraft. Otherwise, the signal may be lost.
3. If the image transmission signal is lost but the aircraft can be controlled, please try adjusting the antenna to make it pointed in the direction of the aircraft, and tap the map in the lower-left corner of the app screen to check the current position of the aircraft and real-time flight path. Then control the aircraft to fly back to the Home Point based on the flight path shown in the flight map.
4. Please pay attention to the height of surrounding buildings and use the remote controller to control the aircraft’s speed and altitude to avoid collisions. If the signal between the drone and controller cannot be restored, please immediately press and hold the RTH button on the remote controller, and release the button until the remote controller makes beeping sounds (D-D-D).
5. Go to the location of the Home Point recorded in the app and wait for the aircraft to return. (If the Home Point is updated during flight, please go to the updated Home Point.)
· How to Find Your Drone 1. If the drone fails to return to the Home Point, the 'Find My Drone' feature on the DJI app might just help you recover it. (In the map, the red arrow displays the last known location of the drone, and the blue arrow displays the user's current position.) Tap the red arrow and the aircraft makes a beeping sound while repeatedly flashing lights. (Precondition: The aircraft is not powered off, and the remote controller and the aircraft are still connected.)
2. If the position of the drone recorded by the Find My Drone function is inaccurate due to a poor GPS signal, you can determine the coordinates and status of the flyaway drone by checking the flight records. If the position cannot be determined, contact DJI Support.
Tips:
1. If the position of the drone is determined, but the drone has fallen into water or a place that is difficult to reach (such as a tree, roof, or cliff), do not risk your personal safety to attempt to take it back.
2. DJI provides free flight data analysis service if your drone is under warranty to help you identify the cause of the accident.
