Emailing a file is probably the worst method to transfer a file.  If you just want someone to be able to view your video, quite honestly, the best method would be to upload it to YouTube and share the link.

I personally use Google Drive most of the time, but there are also other options like WeTransfer, DropBox, and many other similar file sharing services.

If you really do want to send a smaller version of your video, then the only way to do so is to render it to a lower resolution and/or quality.  One of the easiest (and free) options is to use Handbrake.  It is a free open source app that will read nearly any video format and allow you to transcode it into about any other resolution, quality, or encoding scheme.
