I just compiled some footage that shows relics of the old airport Munich Riem, which was closed in 1992. Some old buildings still exist, as well as some trees, parts of the runway, visitor's tribune and others. The video description offers some more background information (in german, but maybe you can easily get it translated).

Thank you! That section was preserved for an exhibition "Ingold Airlines" that took place in 2005 during the so called Federal Garden Show (Bundesgartenschau). This exhibition was kind of an opening ceremony of the rearranged newly constructed area including a park and lots of botanicals, as well as the new Munich Trade Fair exhibition halls (opened already in 1998, AFAIK).

Very nice indeed. Good choice of shots, and the editing was wonderfuL. I’m a pilot and it always hurts me a little when I see an airport abandoned. The U.S. is dotted with many WW II training fields, either turned over to the locals after the war, or overrun with “progress”. It’s from a lost era.

Yes, that truely is some sad moments, especially when you grew up in that area, know the airfields and approaches from former times. I watched a couple of videos about this old EDDM (MUC) it it made me sad somehow.
