While I'm still cursing myself for missing the A+ Halloween sunset, today was at least A-, if not a solid A.
During the day there were no clouds to speak of. But as it often happens in SoCal, things change rather quickly. 2 hours before sunset the light cloud cover started forming and by the time my sunset alarm went off, there was enough moisture in the air to warrant a flight.
With mostly freshly charged batteries I started out. The first battery was about 3/4, so I used it to take a couple of test panos nearby. Then I changed it to a 100% one and went off to fly to Sunset Ridge a couple of miles out, the one that provides a view of Bard Lake.
There were pros and cons to the updated app (see my separate post in the main Mavic 3 channel), but it was mostly a positive experience.

Amazing shots,    too hard to choose a favourite,  but Im strongly drawn to number 2.

For a moment I thought there was a railway in the 4th shot, but I think it is a fence.

He's back!  Absolutely spectacular shots DarthSLR.    Every shot is amazing in it's own respect but I gotta say the colors in #5 made it my favorite.  Glad you were able to capture these.  I've been missing the gorgeous sunsets you post.

Unfortunately I can’t control how ACR merges 360 pano. Sometimes it pus the first frame dead center, sometimes at 3/4. I have been bugging Adobe for years to fix it, but no luck so far.

Yeah, it’s the fence protecting Bard Lake perimeter, since it’s a potable water reservoir.

Nah. The railroad is pretty boring in this section. There are some cute RR tracks further North or West, but that would be half a day effort, not a quick sunset escapade.

I understand. As I said, takes way more effort, plus some luck (or very thorough research) for the train to be at the right place at the right time. Considering the chances of a decent-or-betters sunset to be, I'd say, no more than 15%, makes it pretty much a practical impossibility.
