So I am planning on buying a DJI Mini SE, but I have a Samsung S10e. I have read that most android devices don't really work with the the DJI Fly App, so I need someone's help. I have an old iPhone 8 laying around, although the charging port is pretty stuffed. If you bump it when it is charging, then it stops charging, even though it's still plugged in. I could try to use it but I am not sure how well it will go. I also have an iPad, but I am pretty sure that it wouldn't work with the Mini/Mini SE controller. I also really don't want to upgrade to an iPhone, because i am one of those weird Samsung fans. Could someone please give me some advice. Thanks!

Before you go and buy a different mobile device why not try downloading the Fly App on your S10e and see if it works.  If it opens and you can navigate around you could be okay.  Many phones are not on the compatible list that work with the Fly App.  It is just that the ones listed have been optimized for the Fly App.  Worth a try to test it out.

Thank you. I will try that.

Thank you. I will try that.

If it works great and will keep you from buying another mobile device.  If not, didn't cost anything to give it a try.

Hello there. Thank you for reaching out. DJI will publish the compatible devices that have passed official tests on the Compatibility List on its official website. However, due to the numerous mobile device models available that are subject to software and hardware updates, the DJI engineers are unable to test all devices. In theory, a device that meets system requirements can be used even if it is not in the Compatibility List, but its stabilization has not been verified. We recommend that you download the app first and go to the nearby outlet for testing. Thank you for your understanding.

DJI has its official list of supported Android devices. However, due to the large number of different Android devices in the market, they can't test all of them.

The link below is a great site showing many Android and iPhone devices that have been "unofficially" tested by users to work with the DJI Fly app. You'll want to look under the blue dot for devices tested with the DJI Fly app.
