When the castle fell into disrepair the stone was taken to build the local church.    Some poor people had to carry it back up that hill.

I’m feeling it more so this year but that also might be due to the interruption to normal service.

Could well be.  I never figured out how midnight - 8 AM workers got there sleep patterns in sync.

I have a friend that was a security guard before he retired and he would do nights Mon, Tue, Wed and then days fri, sat as overtime.   I have no idea how he managed it but I suspect his submarine time may have helped,   He could sleep anywhere.

Now that's burning the candle at both ends as they say.  Some people have no problem falling asleep almost anywhere.  After all my years on Navy ships it's hard to get into deep sleep.
