Hi DJI,

AleksworkxFPV made a prop guard mod by putting a hole and it definitely made the flight stable as seen in the video below. If you will sell a prop guard with such feature in the market many will definitely buy one for their avatas.

but does this not give a lot more noise??
And i think the avata will not be as crash-resistant anymore after this?

An extra prop guard is not that expensive...

I wouldn't mind the minimal increase of noise and I don't think you will crash often with these kind of modded prop guard because it will minimize the tumble issue since air can freely flow with the hole in prop guard and will make the avata more stable to fly.

So a Dremel will fix all the "issues?"

Nice find.  He did make an interesting DIY mod to the prop guard.  

was contemplating that actually curious on how it flies

i can see this being 3d printed and titled , "love you long time prop guard"

I might be a little more cautious about symmetry; those air holes in the guards could be a air flow issue as well but i'm gonna give it a go!

Voila!  Didn't quite fix the issue; improved performance I can tell but the issue persist granted it was self induced just wanted to see how bad it was even crashed in a tree, hit ground, etc etc, very durable this drone LOL

So the issue still persist but definitely not as bad as before where the drone loses too much altitude. I'll give it a try too. How big are the holes did you make on your prop guard? Is it the same with AleksworkxFPV?

I just finished cleaning up and making the holes nice before was half assed and still flight performance; stock props too; gimbal at 35 degrees performed similar to 42 degree

I'll snap a pic once i put it together lol

Ironically I think because its somewhat less structurally stiff, when it hit the grass at the end, had a bounce affect the abrupt gimbal up tilt was switching to sport mode for landing

Kindly share your summary of pros and cons based upon your experience as you fly more with the modded prop guard. I'll share mine too once I got the other prop guard I have ordered from the amazon.

brushless dremel for sure, the plastic they use is brittle and hard so be cautious of using anything other than a dremel

This is noted! Thank you for the caution, I'll be careful once i had mine as well from amazon.

The issue from what I can tell is simply put, airflow; if you do a flip forward with zero throttle make sure you got some altitude; don't go base on what you see, its tricky with this drone; cut the throttle and it falls from the sky at orbital velocity

prop guards are stock, I'm careful, legendary hands.   easily replaced if you screw up

Would be nice if DJI made a hybrid, FPVata? lol, or MaPVata, Actually I have 3 fpv and a few mavic 2 , maybe frankenstein the two drones...

Will try it now.And also 3Dprint new design with only one ring, that will fix some turbulence of air getting in from sides.

Maybe ABS will be stiff enough??

gonna try these with hq 4 blades today

on stock props flies smooth, normal mode stable no issues better response crossing fingers that these with new props should fix and allow us to enjoy

Did you chop off the lower part of the prop guard instead of just having a hole?

Voila,

Cleaned up the lower end of the guard so  yes instead of the hole i just cut the lower half so its clear of the prop entirely, try to clean up the plastic as much as possible, imu calibrate it and super smooth flight, definitely better flying aggressive not super aggressive but no tumble.  Very important to calibrate imu after mod to balance out any imperfections the mod may have made
