Obviously I understand the difference between AUTO and MANUAL but what is the difference between MANUAL-ADVANCED ON and MANUAL-ADVANCED OFF?
I think what may not be helping me is the fact that when in MANUAL-ADVANCED ON I cannot select a slower shutter speed than 1/50th. sec. I can only get a slower shutter speed when in MANUAL-ADVANCED OFF yet a friend get get below 1/50th in both modes.

Chandos, you may have your frame rate set at 50fps in 1080 or 720. If that is the case the settings do not allow you to have a shutter speed less than the frame rate. to go down to a shutter speed of 1/30th. sec. for example, you will have to reduce your frames per second setting.
