Hi all,

I just got the action 3, and whilst it's taking some stunning footage I can't edit the 4k / 60fps footage I have taken via the app on my phone.

Please see the screenshot for the exact message I get.

It's a one plus nord2 5g. Relatively powerful phone, and definitely capable of editing 4k as it even shoots 4k natively on the phone.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's so frustrating, and a seemingly massive flaw in the mimo app!

You can try with different phone.  I'm pretty sure the problem is with your device.

try shooting a test shot in a lower fps, and then lower resolution and see if it edits?    and report back

use  your cut apk (free version)

or use codec h264

If you really want a good cheap option fast and efficient with heaps of extras and options quick uploads to YT and no glitching or slowing down. Then there is a very good and inexpensive option that is for iPad/iPhone LumaFusion it costs approximately $25 and once you start using it you’ll wonder why it took so long to get around to it.

Does it have AI selfie stick removal though?

Also, I would have just thought I can use DJI's software to actually edit the footage that is produced by one of their cameras...

Can confirm, 1440p 120FPS works.

So the issue is just 4k. Perhaps it is my phone, but since I've edited 4k footage on it from my mavic air and also from the phone's native camera, I can't see why it isn't capable of editing footage from the osmo...?!

Some computers/phones have a problem even playing h265 codec. It’s very efficient and compresses footage well, but some machines don’t like it. In the camera menu somewhere, there is an option to record in h264 which is easier for editing.

He’s suggesting to change the recording codec on the camera to h264

Oh ok. It’s labelled as HEVC, not h265, but that’s what it is, in effect. It means that 4k files recorded on camera will be larger though because HEVC is a more efficient codec.

Bitrate  and hevc your mavic is it identical with  the Action 3.

so its not  what DJI said to reset things.

use a usbc-usbc cable
transfer the video file and you can edit the hevc file
iff you use the mimo apk it is not possible.the mimo file edit with  Lightcut

Thank you for the update number. Do older versions notify you because mine didn’t!

How did you get that resolution file out of the OA3?
I'm sure your phone handles 4k just fine, it's just that the file it's reporting is not 4k.. but 3072x4096 at 60fps.

Thank you for your response. You may try to use a different mobile device as some mobile devices via the DJI Mimo app do not support editing a high-resolution and high fps video. You may lower the resolution/fps of the video and switch to H.264 for you to edit some footage using the DJI Mimo app. Thank you for your valued support.
