Very nice top down shot DA.    Seems like bridge repair in the winter is a theme in the UK.  I see you even captured a man walking his dog across the bridge.

Thanks DT,  Im sure they are doing this one to cause less disruption as its much busier in the summer.   I think they also have an agreement that they are not working whilst the port is in use.

Sometimes here I wish they would do more road construction/repair at night and not during morning or afternoon rush hours.

Pot holes are never good for a car's suspension.  You'd think they could at least do a temporary fix.

They do,   the spray red or orange paints in a circle around them,  then if you damage your car after that you have no claim on them for it.

Yeah, that wouldn't hold up in court here.  They are required to put a cone in the middle of the pot hole.

Yeah, seems on narrow roads that could get dangerous very quickly.  These were what I was referring to and they are just baby pot holes.

No doubt about that.  Hopefully, they are quicker at repairing pot holes in the UK than they are here.  Seems to be low priority for the road maintenance department.

No they take months usually.  Even on the busy sections.

Road repairs seem to be slow all over then.  I got to admit it does take a lot of equipment brought to the scene to do a proper repair.  

It happened a few years back but I'm sure the Sheriff was not happy when one of his Deputies ran over a deep pot hole in his patrol car and it ripped out the front suspension on the passenger's side.  Made the local news as a headliner.  The County Manager got an earful from the Sheriff I'm sure.

Here its maddening,  you can have a pot hole reported which takes weeks to be repaired,  in the mean tike another pot forms a few feet away,  when the repair people come out they only repair the one in their report rather than doing all of them.    It's like they charge per job.

That beats all I've ever heard.  They are already on site so why not fix it and not have to return?  I think that falls under somebody trying to make sure they always have job security.
