If I wanted to fly through the gap in the church font (pictured below).
Apart from telling me not to do it, would you recommend taping up the downward facing sensors or flying just fast enough to avoid an uplift of the drone?
I've test flown it without tape, at a very very slow speed, but the drone lifted up slighty, so I stopped doing it.

The gap is about 75cm, with a similar diameter to fly over. The font cover is suspended from the ceiling.
I do have permission to fly in the church and will be giving them the footage.

Thank you.

You could switch to sport mode and adjust the stick sensitivity to fly slow. As far as I know is sport mode the sensors are inactive (if downwards as well, I don't know).

No, downward sensor for use of landing protection cannot be disabled, it is always ON

75 cm is the gap.....sensor will fly up your drone if height below drone < 50 cm.

So you have 25 / 2 = 12,5 cm room to fly....  ;-)

Taping over the bottom sensors could cause it to enter landing mode if you use enough down stick.
May also cause it to keep rising to its minimum safe clearance.

Thank you. I'll ask them to raise the cover just a bit!

Thank you.
My aim is to set the altitude when I'm positioned at the side of the font, then manoeuvre into position, then maintain the altitude all down the aisle (maybe an increase after I've passed through the font.

I'll practice in open space first to see the affects on the tape.

I wouldn't want to risk Sports Mode, as I'd want to fly right up to the Alter area, in front of a stained glass window.

Look for how to disable auto-landing by editing the Drone's parameters. Only then return the settings back .. This will help you fly at any low altitude.

You cannot do this with the Mini 3 Pro

People keep suggesting Sports mode - NO!!! It is stoopid to enter Sports mode for this. Go into
Fly/camera view/settings/Safety/Obstacle Avoidance - Off

Even better, hand carry the drone through. Then fly it down the aisle, use something for a reference to keep the same altitude from the floor.

Hi Mobilehomer,

Setting OA to off does not kill the Landing Protection!

Landing Protection will raise craft if drone is flying < 0.50 cm above the surface below.

Tripod mode would be useful here......but DJI refuse to put it back in.

Hi Mobilehomer,

Setting OA to off does not kill the Landing Protection!

I never said it did. I just said , using Sport Mode to turn off OA is not real smart, in fact stoopid is the word I used.
