The sparking train in the fog.......

As the temperatures dropped again here this morning, the railway power lines freeze and then the trains spark as they come by.   As its such a sight it was a train shot that our friend @Montfrooij should enjoy.

Very nice shot DA.    With your weather this morning I'm surprised that there wasn't more sparking from the frozen power lines.  Great timing on your part to catch the train coming through.

There was lots of sparking but it's very hard to catch.

Yeah, probably would have needed to video it to capture all the sparking.  Still a really great shot.

I on key just got it as the fog was thick enough that I couldn't see them coming.

Yes,  sadly it was all a bit last minute.com as I couldnt see the train coming until it was right there.    At one point on the ground all you could see of the train was those sparks,   even the lights in the windows did not show through.

Just squint your eyes and then it doesn't look so grainy.    I think it would have been cool to get a video of all that popping going on.

Great shot, very mysterious and divers - train, fog, dry river, blue sky, beginnings of sunrise.

I have a big strobe that velcos to the bottom or back.

On the bottom though its hand launch only.

Thanks Peter,   this fog was not on the forecast last night so was quite the surprise this morning.   Although typically I cut the grass yesterday as the next few days were forecast to be mild so I didnt need the freezing weather this morning we ended up with.

It was like £3.99 from china and you can choose the colours it flashes too for extra fun.
