Group question about how frequently to change the props.
Thinking along the lines of auto, home or other preventative maintenance.


I have not had any issues with props hitting things, nicks, or other as it relates to my props. I check before and after each flight to be sure, including for bug-strikes which could make the props sticky or other.


My current flight stats for my trusty Mini 2 are 30.1 hours, 132 miles flown and 333 flights (wow, didn't realize how fast they added up, guess my wife is right and I'm disappearing more than I think). Drone itself is less than 1 year old, so new, but with some miles on it.


So long-story short, looking to see what folks thing about removing props and replacing if there is no visible damage or issue. Is there a DJI recommendation on when and how often, or "if it ain't broke don't fix"?

I am in the same boat, never changed never had any need to, I say keep checking them for stress cracks or general wear and change as soon as you see any sign of degradation

Hi, HerbA. Thank you for reaching out. There is no specific duration on when to replace the propellers. Before each flight, it is necessary to check the propellers for cracks, wear, warp, corrosion, and loose screws. If any of these conditions are present, the propellers should be replaced. Follow the instructions in the user manual to replace the propellers. Use the included screwdriver to change the propellers. Please follow the instructions provided. Remove the two blades and screws on the same arm, and replace the propellers in the same package with new screws. Attach the propellers with marks to the arms with marks, and the unmarked propellers to unmarked arms. Ensure that the propellers and arms are installed securely before each flight.

I only ever change them is there is any damage, for context, my P4P has had the same props on for about 3 years now, the Mini 3 has the same original props from new back in early July.

Thanks for all the replies. As a few shared, I check before and after every flight just to be sure I don't see anything going on with them, will keep on doing that until they finally need to be changed out.
