I must have position my thumb just perfectly for a slicing cut by a blade tip.

Do you think I will need a plastic surgeon? Lol

Dear lord.  First, before we assess the damage and get the flight log, can you please just assure us that you are ok @Sean?  I think this could be a million dollar injury if you call Saul Goodman!

We need a support group for drone fliers that have lost finger tips from this.

Thank you for reaching out.  We're sorry for the unpleasant experience. In this kind of situation,  we recommend that you send your thumb back to us for further diagnosis and analysis of what happened. You may submit an online repair request through this link: {https://repair.dji.com/repair/thumb}. If the thumb is still within warranty, the wound analysis would be free.  Also, the warranty can be applied depending on the outcome of the damage assessment including the warranty period of your thumb. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Oh, almost forgot: Did your thumb ever experience a hard landing or crash?

Phew that's a weight off my shoulders, it wasn't really hand catching, .... more a not paying proper attention when messing with the drone after it had been caught.

Oops . . .since I flew  RC Helicopters years ago, I learned to keep those knives away from me, and I practice that with the drone as well.  You were lucky that your little buddy only wanted to get your attention.  Hope it never happens again.

I trimmed a couple of fingernails once when hand-catching, but no blood was drawn, so it doesn't count

Been there....done that!!! Well....something very familiar. It was on a hand landing and my thumb was just a little too far up and caught the tip of my thumb on the tip of a propeller....didn't really bleed but I had four little slices.....kinda looked like a Mini Freddy Krueger had got the tip with finger knives. It was almost all callous so it actually stayed like that for a while. LOL!!!

Good point,     props and screws,  maybe a motor check should be the priority here.  Poor little drone.

Alan Partridge has the perfect comment whilst leaning out of his window but it cannot be repeated here lol however, you can add this to the end of the main YT url /watch?v=dvcmunJl2dg&ab_channel=RobL. ;)

Glad ya ok, well, except for the thumb mind, stick it in ya gob and walk it off lol

It could have been worse, but it does serve as a reminder and I'm sure ya wont be as complacent in the future.

I am relatively new to drones about 4 years now, so I'm still to earn my 1st injury, although, I'm not gonna say it's not been close though, the wind can certainly get ya pulse racing and the old chocolate starfish nipping at ya drawers

Ai. I had it once with my Mavic Pro.
It was quite painful at first.
