Has anyone come up with a way to secure the DJI wireless mic to the Action 3? I want to use the wireless mic attached to the Action 3 for motor vlogging. The action 3 with the attached wireless receiver can happily sit on the front of my motorcycle helmet but I want to ensure that the receiver doesn’t fall off. Apart from an elastic band, any ideas?

That works for the camera but not for the mic receiver. Essentially it is a box that plugs into the side of the camera. There is nothing to secure the lead to, unfortunately.

The only way the mic can attach to the actual camera is via the usb connector. There is no clip or anything else to attach to a cold shoe.

It appears that what I don’t have is the shoe adapter!

Plus the plan is to have the camera fitted to a chin mount on a motorbike helmet. Not too keen on a case with a cold shoe on top as I think it is going to obstruct my vision.

try your usbc connector with a rubber ring .iff you have space use foam rubber between camera and receiver .
i have no problems with my mono receiver
ulanzi and smallrig.no problems without an extra safty ring

rubber rings from  flower shop greengrocer are verry strong

allow some time.  I show what may be best for you, but you decide, and @Lutzmix credit to him, on his band idea, take it one step further, with what I show, if like be a little less stressful if asked on the  ports

I thought it might come down to elastic bands. Seems to be the obvious, cheapest and most reasonable solution. Thanks for that.

The only way the mic can attach to the actual camera is via the usb connector. There is no clip or anything else to attach to a cold shoe.

You can connect the RX unit to camera with a USB-C male to USB-C male data cable.
Using the charging input not the sticking out attachment.
So you aren't obliged to have it directly plugged in.
The RX unit can be clipped into a cold shoe mount and these can be bought in various forms which might be inventively attached to helmet or something.

I am facing the same problem - no secure way to attach DJI Mic to Osmo Action 3 when using the setup on a bike or other activities with more action.

Using the mic directly attached to the USB-C port is out of question as it will either fall off or will damage the port at some point because of mic weight and vibrations. Wrapping it with rubber straps as in the video above could improve the situation for sure, but is not a perfect solution either.

As I am using the SmallRig camera cage I tried to mount the mic receiver to the cold shoe mount on top of the camera and then using a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the receiver to the action camera. That setup puts less stress on both USB ports, but the receiver was not stable there because the cold shoe adapter for the mic from DJI is with very poor design and cannot hold the mic to the attachment point. I could probably use rubber straps or similar workaround for that problem, but maybe a safer solution for this particular use case (bike mount) would be to just keep the receiver in a bag on the bike frame and use a cable to connect it to the camera.

In any case it is very disappointing that DJI failed to provide a solution for connecting their action camera and mic which is applicable for at least some of the action sports (XC biking in my case).
