8 days on the Island of Madeira with my spotter - what can be better?
Hiking and flying, visiting and changing SD-cards. We went to all the places we wanted to and met not a single soul complaining or looking at us sideways for flying (responsibly).
Surprisingly quickly draining batteries. A couple of minor crashes and one big one later I present you with this best of fpv version of the journey. As usual I will follow up with more in-depth versions of the places because to shrink it down to a slightly elongated 2.20 minutes song would be too painful otherwise.

Wow. Fantastic scenery Depp. Some manoeuvres so fast my brain could hardly keep up with my eyes I'm sure the drone got a shower at the waterfall?  And a dramatic dusty landing at the end.

Yes, love that dust - though the motors don't really. Are okay, though.

Another drone (and another camera for no apparent reason) didn't survive :-(
Still not sure what the reason is and I don't even have goggles footage...

Oh rats! What happened to the drone?  Lost on a mission, or damaged/recovered?

Rats indeed.
I flew at a water fall, the first "dive" was all right but then I thought go again, maybe the battery was too low, maybe it was a stability problem of a "cinewhoop style" drone when diving. But it went down on a stone and then into the water. The drone still works, I just need a new frame (8 bucks plus shipping from China and prob 1 h work), the camera screen broke and the case as well but now it still works.
What irks me most is that I neither have the footage from the naked GoPro nor from the goggles.

I guess the loss of the footage hurts you more than the physical damage to the equipment. At least you managed to retrieve it for repair.

Well, with the Avata I cheated a bit and at times put the speed to 150 or 200 %... Maybe I should've flown faster in the first place...
