While out flying my P3 Professional today I got hit hard by another RC plane.I was up at about 250 feet and watched as my bird wobbled out of control for about 50 feet then recovered on it's own!
I saw the other plane not recover and crash nearby.

I landed my P3 and checked for damage and there was none. I had prop guards on which I think saved my P3.
I went over to check on the planes owner and he showed me his plane that was not to badly damaged. His plane is mostly
made of styrofoam. My drone made a big dent in one wing but the crash messed up his prop.

We both talked about what happened and agreed it was an accident, shook hands and walked away friends.

Nice ending to a potentially horrendous outcome.

Glad your DJI3 was safe.  Can you expound on your theory that prop guards saved your DJI3.

I don't know but I think you have that certain magnetism to disaster, I would be careful if I were you.

No fist fight and a night in jail?

That's the way to handle things...

Wish you had video... ;-)

I think without the prop guards on, my props would have chewed up his plane more and also cause one of my props to snap or break. With a broken prop my P3 would not have recovered as it did.

No I just enjoy life and get out and do things. I have met many like minded flyer's  at this park and as I am new I asked around "was I doing something wrong" nope just a accident. Another lesson learned.

No video. I think I will start rolling the camera more now when I fly. I was not out to take photos. I was practising my flight skills. I was sure happy to see how well the P3 recovered. I was not due to any pilot skills on my part. I recovered completly on it's own.

Well there was no video but I was just looking at my flight record and there it is at 3:21 mins into my flight I was just hovering at 157 feet when I was hit. My P3 droped over 70 feet before recovering at just 80 feet above the ground.

Nice! I saw it dropped to 80 feet and then climbed back to 150 again, did the P3 do that or did you shoot back up to 150?

it's better not to fly too close to each other, especially  with fixed wings or other planes, please fly safe
Good luck
