It seems that almost all the DJI Mavic 3 Pro specifications and prices have been made available over the weekend through hard work from @Quadro_News and @JasperEllens. Please remember that this information is still unconfirmed, so please take it with a grain of salt.

Even though it seems that @Quadro_News is reading the information straight from a DJI press release, we will have to wait until the official release of the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, which is scheduled for tomorrow morning, before we will know the specs, pricing, and configurations for sure.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro specs, pricing and more
Here's a summary of all the important specifications, prices, photos and different configurations of the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, according to @Quadro_News and @JasperEllens.

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro has a triple-camera setup with an impressive optical and hybrid zoom range.

  • The main camera on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro is the 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera,24mm equivalent with an aperture range of f/2.8-f/11 that shoots 20MP aerial images.
  • The second camera features a 1/1.3-inch CMOS Hasselblad sensor and has a 70mm equivalent focal length lens. This camera provides a 3x optical zoom with an aperture of f/2.8 and shoots 48MP aerial photos.
  • The third camera has a 1/2-inch CMOS Hasselblad Camera with a 166mm equivalent lens that offers a 7x optical zoom and a 28x Hybrid zoom at a fixed aperture of f/3.4 and can shoot still photos of 12MP.

The only leak I've not yet seen is if the Cine version can shoot ProRes across all three cameras.

I'm going to say it's a no, due to thermal issues. It'll be tough to explain to a client that you've got three cameras on a drone and only one will shoot ProRes.

No more difficult to explain than it was with 2 cameras, right?

- There is no such thing as a Hasselblad sensor, and no drone has a Hasselblad camera.
- The Mavic 3 pro does not have any optical zoom lens. It has three fixed focal lenses, with 24, 70 and 166mm equiv. focal length.

If you look at the bottom of the camera the name Hasselblad is clearly stamped on it.
Guess it is made by someone else then.

these are still leaks so you never know; the first photo in this thread (post #1) shows a photo without the stamp.  i have no idea but i would prefer it not come with such a stamp even if it is hasselblad, but i guess it will ultimately be covered.

@Arctic, could you explain that a bit more.  I'm probably not as well versed as you are and missing something basic.  Confused about the Hasselbad comment as I thought DJI acquired them a long time ago.

Pretty much all DJI drones use a Sony imaging sensor, including all non-thermal flavors of the Mavic 3.  The Mavic 3 uses the Sony IMX272 sensor as the base component of its 4/3 camera system.  Hasselblad is essentially just a marketing gimmick when it comes to the DJI cameras.  I'm sure the Hasselblad engineers pitch in to help design the camera system and the color science, but they definitely aren't designing a bespoke sensor for DJI.

Even the latest Hasselblad medium format cameras utilize a Sony sensor.

DJI owns the majority of Hasselblad, so they are free to use the name how they want. It is a well respected camera brand, and DJI uses the name for what it is worth. Neither the lens or sensor are made by Hasselblad, but they were involved in development of the colour processing used in the camera. I think also Ming Thein contributed with some expertise.
Obviously the marketing has worked, many believe that Hasselblad makes the camera and lens, and some even believe that they make the sensor. But it is made by Sony...

Lol, it is made by someone else, namely Sony.

Buy up a company and you can stick their name on anything you fancy. The only thing in that drone which is Hasselblad is the colour science, which IMO isn't that great. Purple hue and the shadows are always this horrible blue. Would kill for Canon colour science in the DJI drones.

In the end it would be a big company like Sony making  the camera.

Why?  DJI owns Hasselblad.  They say that they use Hasselblad's natural color science.  And since they own them, they can use the name however they want.

You may actually be surprised at how many name brand camera companies that you know that actually use Sony sensors.  As I documented above, actual Hasselblad branded medium format cameras use Sony sensors.  Nikon and Panasonic both have documented cameras that use Sony sensors, however, they won't freely tell you that piece of info.  At this point, I think Canon is pretty much the only one that isn't using them.

According to the blurb shown on drone XL site “link above” it does shoot ProRes across all 3 cameras.
Excerpt: For professional creators, the Mavic 3 Pro Cine provides extensive options. All three cameras support Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Apple ProRes 422, and Apple ProRes 422 LT encoding. The drone also includes a built-in 1TB SSD and a 10 GB/s lightspeed data cable, further facilitating professional creation.

It is a hasselblad camera, including the new camera and thats how dji are marketing and selling it. Sony make sensors for all major camera platforms , none of them call their cameras Sony and thats because they’re not Sony cameras.
If you buy this camera drone you are indeed getting a hassleblad camera and the fact that dji make the best bar none camera drones I’m certain that hassleblad and dji brands are both mutually happy about the decision that this is a hassleblad camera will only benefit both brands going forward. It makes huge marketing sense.

It called hassleblad because thats what it is. And I’m certain because it is the best quality and best known drone camera both pro and amateur fits well into the hassleblad brand who also make some of  the best handheld cameras pro/amateur on the market. It is what it is.

So many top camera manufacturers use Chinese manufacturing to make their products.

Yes, this makes the most sense to me.  DJI spent a lot of money with their stake in Hasselblad.  They get to call it what they want.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but the idea that DJI shouldn't put hasselblad on the camera because it's a Sony sensor is laughable.
Hasselblad has always used Sony sensors on their digital cameras, but so do Canon, Fujifilm, Leica, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Phase One, Samsung & Sigma.
It's not the sensor that makes a camera, it's how that image is processed and ultimately outputted that makes it.
The camera on Mavic 3 is as much a hasselblad as a hasselblad, just in a smaller package with a smaller sensor.

In case anyone was wondering...

"The main camera on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro is the 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera,24mm equivalent with an aperture range of f/2.8-f/11 that shoots 20MP aerial images.
The second camera features a 1/1.3-inch CMOS Hasselblad sensor and has a 70mm equivalent focal length lens. This camera provides a 3x optical zoom with an aperture of f/2.8 and shoots 48MP aerial photos.
The third camera has a 1/2-inch CMOS Hasselblad Camera with a 166mm equivalent lens that offers a 7x optical zoom and a 28x Hybrid zoom at a fixed aperture of f/3.4 and can shoot still photos of 12MP."

What this means is, you have the regular 24mm lens over a micro 4/3rds sensor, then you have  a second lens creating a "zoom" focal length of 70mm (~3x) over a 1/1.3 inch cmos sensor, and lastly a third lens creating a "zoom" focal length of 7x or approx 166mm over a 1/2 inch sensor.

So when people ask, "Does it have optical zoom?!?"  Sort of.  Its not a zoom lens like on your land camera where you can zoom from 70mm to 200mm on one camera.  It uses optics on each of the 2nd and 3rd cameras to "zoom" 3x and 7x respectively.
