I got my P3P a couple weeks ago.  Have since been on a long road trip to the west coast.  I finished my 13th flight yesterday and have had zero incidents (knock on wood) and totally blown away by the results.  Has far exceeded my expectations.  Haven't had time to do any video editing, but I wanted to post some pictures

lf you go back in to edit your first post, across the top there will be a little orange bubble saying "use" for the pictures you uploaded. Once you click it and save, the pics will appear.

storm1000, very nice.  Question - are these photos, or captures from video?  I know you said you haven't  "edited" any video yet, but you might have simply captured these.

Yes I should have clarified that.  These are video screen captures, so not technically photos from the photo setting.

Okay, that's what I thought.  Did you do any post production on the photos after you captured them - they look relatively untouched.

It funny, I've always said that the P3 is for two types of people; pilots who want to start taking pictures, and photographers who want a different perspective.  As the pilot type, I keep thinking that good photos and videos need action, or something really interesting for the viewer to focus on.  So I actually copied your photos into a word doc to help remind me of the quiet beauty of a well composed simple aerial shot - knowing full well that these shots are anything but "simple".

All the captures are untouched.  I totally get what you mean about pilot type vs photographer type and appreciate your words.

Awesome shots!  Curious to know your Pre-flight procedures at each new location, i.e., compass calibration, sensor check, etc.  Thanks...

Out of interest, if you take a screen shot (if you call it that) from a video is the quality of the image as good as taking a photo?

Thanks!  As for pre-flight procedures.  If I'm at a new location I always do the compass calibration, then just make sure the P3P is picking up GPS properly.  Physical overview of the drone to make sure camera looks normal and settings on the app are normal.  Otherwise I working with default settings... 4k video in auto mode etc.  I still have a lot to learn but making progress

That's a good question and I wonder that myself.  The screen capture photo quality looks superb to my untrained eye, but not sure how it stacks up against a native RAW or jpeg image taken directly from the drone, but maybe someone else can chime in with more input.  Good question though!!

Impressive shot of meteor crater. I'm surprise it could handle the winds there, I was there in June and gusts were 50+ which they say is relatively calm there.

Yes actually it was fairly windy when I was there as well.  gusting around 30-35 I'd say... likely higher aloft.  I could see the drone was catching turbulence pretty good with the level indicator on the app, but maintained regardless.  Had no issues landing and no control issues.
