Entering the Pavillion Gardens at Buxton today, were were confronted by an absolute carpet of lawn daisies looking like snow in the sunshine.
Placing the Action2 on a low support gave a view of the gently sloping lawn.

Thanks David.  There's lots of green in that shot. From eye level it looked as though it had been snowing.

All these buttercups and daisies, makes me think of that old song  "Strawberry Fair"

That was an old English folk song.

As I was going to Strawberry Fair,
Singing, singing, Butter-cups and Daisies
I met a maiden taking her ware,

That's the one - a memory from school days.

Speaking of "School Days" do you remember this older song?

That reminds me to head back to the lake later and look for baby mallards here too.

You should have tempted them to you with some bread.

Perhaps you should have planned for it.

Apparently, you shouldn't feed bread to ducks, it's bad for their digestion.
The RSPB says:

Although bread isn't harmful to birds, try not to offer it in large quantities, since its nutritional value is relatively low. A bird that is on a diet of predominantly, or only bread, can suffer from serious vitamin deficiencies, or starve.

We cant do that,  the starlings destroy them in a less than a day and no one else gets a look in.    We got a starling proof feeder that we thought we let the blue tits gets a little nibble whilst they give the fresh food to the young ones,  but they figured that out too.

The bigger bullies quickly shoulder the little ones aside, alas.  And their ingenuity in defeating obstacles is amazing.

I don't know if you can get them as seed.  There may be a lawn seed with meadow flowers that you can buy from a garden centre. I'm not a gardener

It is cheaper and since they are widespread, I would not feel bad about it.
