Seriously what's the point of forcing a camera to be activated with a phone when it can work on its own?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. It is required that the DJI Pocket 2 needs to be connected to a mobile device to perform the activation. It is also important to activate the DJI Pocket 2 first to register its serial number and for you to use the product. Here are the steps on how to properly activate your DJI Pocket 2:

1. Download and install the DJI Mimo app on your mobile phone.

2. Remove the cover on the universal port. Then connect the mobile phone to the DJI Pocket 2 with a smartphone adapter. Press and hold the function button or power button to power the gimbal.

3. The DJI Mimo app will automatically prompt that the device needs to be activated.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate the DJI Pocket 2.
