Update 10/15: The app has been released on the App Store. Thank you to beta testers.

We would like to invite a few more users in to our Map Pilot app beta test.

The Map Pilot app is a mapping flight estimation, planning and auto pilot all in one. The user defines the area to be surveyed, selects the level of detail they would like to collect, taps the Pre-Flight Check and Takeoff buttons and the app takes care of the rest. Our goal is to make the process of collecting and processing aerial imagery easy enough for a novice while remaining flexible and accurate enough to be used by professional users.

This app is not for general purpose waypoint or ground station functions.

Up until this point, we have been working with a few hand selected users that have given us some great feedback and helped to guide the addition of new features and use cases. These users were power users of our Maps Made Easy processing platform and people who we had a working relationship with that already had experience with aerial mapping.  After hundreds of flights with no incidents or major issues, we would like to open it up to our next round of 50 beta testers.

Information about the app and beta testing access can be found on the Map Pilot page on the Drones Made Easy site.

Features:
    Multi-Flight Coordination
    Multi-Battery Management
Fullest Possible Use of Each Battery
    Appropriate Camera Triggering

This app is not for general purpose waypoint or ground station functions.

As of 9/25, we are opening up one last round of beta testing before hopefully releasing the app in the App Store. The newest features include map caching for offline operations, mission saving and the ability to refly missions.

Not only the app, the whole Maps Made Easy workflow from capture to output files is excellent.

Elegantly simple- well done!

Quick question, our company uses UAVs to make survey grade topographic maps. Currently we use Pix4D software but the flight app isn’t supported yet on iOS. I am looking at this app in place and the only problem I see is that a mission can only be flown at a minimum of 197 feet. Can you tell me if it’s possible to fly a mission lower than that? We prefer to fly most of our missions around 90 feet or lower to improve vertical accuracy.

Sorry for the delay. Our app allows for data capture from 10 meters (33 feet) up to 120 meters (400 ft).
