I have just bought Action2 display combo at Amazon and already consider sending it back.
Here are the reasons.
1. Activation
I have to use the Mimo app, which is banned from Google Play Store. I'm not going to install such thing to the same device that talks to my bank account. Let's try alternatives.
1.1 First attempt
OK. I powered on my ancient Samsung tablet with Android 7, downloaded and installed both the app and the upgrade for Android 7. I have enabled Bluetooth on tablet, switched the camera on, launched the Mimo, asked it to connect to device.
"No Osmo found"
Eh!?..
In Android's settings the camera is visible allright. I tried to pair it from the OS - no success.
1.2 Second attempt
Asked my wife to install the app on her phone. Now the camera got connected. I have activated it using my e-mail. After a while, though, when I tried to connect again, the camera is not seen by the phone again despite both devices are 30 cm apart.
2. "Environment temperature low. Unable to record. "
This is the error message I see when trying to record a 4K@60 video. The "Environment temperature" is 25.6C as of this writing. The battery icon supposed to be in the upper right corner of the screen, is absent. There is a long unresolved thread on this very forum on the topic.
I was able to take a photo.
I've switched the camera off for a while, suspecting overheating. Now the camera is cold, but all of the above symptoms are still there.
3. Conclusion
I have spent about two hours trying to get the device to work. The DJI support operates Mo-Fr 8-17, but this doesn't suit me particularly well, as I work at this time, and the camera was bought for personal use.
Unless the issue is resolved somehow in a couple of days, I shall return the camera to Amazon against a refund. The above text will be posted as a review. The number of stars for the review is left for the reader to guess.
