I read somewhere that the app can now control both pan & tilt of the camera now - is this true?

Some more features that are now active. Seems to me the app is now in the polishing phase.

Gimbal Wheel speed, stick expo curve and new mapping function for c1 and c2. This new function allows you to pan and tilt using the left gimbal wheel. Click once and wheel controls tilt, click again and wheel controls pan.

It is now.  The latest version of the App has this feature.  You hold your finger on the screen and the blue circle appears.  Move your finger and the camera pans and tilts based on your finger movement.

Awesome - thanks for confirming Ed! I'm buying the single controller version and I never expected to be able to control the camera panning on my own, this is really great news!

personally i think it will come out on a f.w. update at some point but other might not be so brave and will wait to order. i know of two people who are holding off for that reason and other reasons.

I'm actually thinking they are going to allow a 3rd party to develop this function. But only time will tell...

My guess is no.  The Inspire is a higher level copter than the P2 Vision and Vision +.  With the functions of the Tx and the App there is no need.

So I see some people have had delivery. I am getting excited as mine should be here soon then as I was in the first batch of pre orders. One big problem I see at the moment is those that have taken delivery can't use their camera with iPad as no app appears to be available yet.

Do you really think that they will ship the Inspire without the app being released?
DJI knows what they are doing, just sit back, take a chill pill and wait.  The people who have the pre-production models and the people that might have the post production models have access to the App, they have done a great job of showing us what they can, and an even better job of not leaking the App to the public.

Just questioning some peoples claims about delivery. Follow my thinkng. No chill pill required. I know dji knows what they doing. Happen to own 2 of their products and never had one complaint.

I just joined the DJI community, but I've been reading quite a few posts... and it seems to be a trend with some of the rude replies to seemingly benign or harmless questions or comments.  It's really annoying, as I plan to use this forum for legitimate collaboration, so when I see the rude behavior and comments...  I am going to report the user and do my best to flush those people out.  It is not welcome. Just an FYI.

I have been on the board since DJI announced the Inspire, I count on the board for new information just like everyone else.  If you do a little research on these boards, you can pretty much answer any question that you might have.  It does get old re hashing things that only DJI has control of, the point I was making is everyone needs to be patient, everything will be released when it is ready to be released.

Hi all,
I was able to download and install the DJI Pilot app version 0.8.0.6 on my iPhone 6+ as well as Mini.

This version seems pretty stable and has the manual version 1.0 included (12-2014).

I uninstalled it as I'm not sure we're supposed to have it just yet (and it's quite useless without the inspire1 in hand), but it is available if you look hard enough on DJI's own website with no passwords or anything. I won't post the link here myself, just wanted to let you know. If DJI wants me to delete this thread, I will. I assume the link was opened on their website as we may have delivery soon.

      

Unless I hear otherwise that the app was released, I don't think that I should. I'm not sure if the link was a mistake or not. I will say that it is installed in a similar fashion as the lightbridge app.

I didn't post this to have others want the link from me, I just wanted to know if it was a glitch and if anyone else got it or not
