Remove the camera and basically the FC40 is a Phantom 1. The difference is the 5.8 GHz control frequency instead of the 2.4 GHz.
As far as I can tell it looks like it uses the same 2212 motor as the Phantom 2 but I'm not sure if it uses the same ESC's.
The Phantom 1 uses seperate ESC's for the front and back (red / green) whereas the Phantom 2 series uses one ESC for all arms. I suppose the only way to know for sure is to open it up and compare the ESC to a photo of the different ESC's. Phantom 1 ESC green Phantom 2 ESC
