How aggravating, dull ish day, should have been good flying weather, on 2 occasions even after standing in the shadows, I took off and could almost see squat on the screen, could not even see the direction I was going (on screen) let alone anything else, so gave up and hit the home button.  Do I have a crap tablet or is this something which happens to 90% of everyone, is it common ? I have ordered a hood, for the tablet, I hope this is going to do the job, but if not,I am going to just have to get another tablet, 7 to 10 inch android. Any suggestions what to stay away from or what to get, If I end up going this root!

You are not alone ! I have an iPad Air 2 with the anti crap coating and I can't see for nothing , I have to cover myself with a black blanket to see, the hood will give a little but I am leaning towards goggle as this is not working in mid day, you have to be before sun down to see the tablet.

Yeah right along this scenario, that's why I say the hell with it and pack up and get out, my ultimate solution is get a van spcially for fpv with antennas outside and a big TV inside and a lounge chair with tinted windows and fly in the air conditioned van and sit back and relax while flying the phantom.

ok guy this is my solution to sun glare,ived tried sunshades but all kinds are rubbish because of reflections, i have a large vanguard camera ruck sack that i use to transport my phantom around in,this bag came with a waterproof cover that you stretch over the bag to protect it , so i thought it might make a good sun shade,so when im out in the field on a very sunny day i just take the ruck sack cover and stretch one end over my 10" tab and the other end over my head,it puts you straight in the dark and works very well,i have tried other rucksack rain covers and as long as you get the large one they all do a great job of shading the screen.

Ok I can see that;  sort of,  At the min I am waiting for one of those black peek view boxes that cover the screen. Like the ones that used to be at the fair, you paid 2p to see what the butler saw, Oppps there I go again!   but I am sure you know what I mean...... about the viewer, Not what the butler saw thing. Never paid Honest. I  was told by a friend..........   HAHAHAH.

If using android swipe your finger down from the top of the screen and turn auto brightness off and slide the slider to the far right for max brightness.

hi, yep tried that, its crap, well most of the time, Although my tablet is pooo anyway, lots of little light scratches across the screen, ( how they got there God knows), which don't help, that's why I was thinking of getting a new one. Ebay seems real cheap on these things now, 8 -16gb  7, 7.9 inch tablet for around 50US $ ish,  some inc free shipping. Was thinking of getting one just for the P3A, But I understand some like the, is it, Nexus seem to have problems with the DJI go app. Any suggestions ?

Heres another option.  Used Hoodman stuff on my LCD displays on video cameras, look OK. Not as cheap as a cardboard box though.

Yeah that is a great option, ill have to find one for my iPad, or just get the foam hdmi display goggles and get it over with.

Try the PadHat from hoodivision.com.  The secret is the angle.  Even with a hood, if you're looking at the screen straight on you'll just see yourself.  The PadHat forces you to look at the screen from an angle.  Anyway it works.

Yes, angle is important. I don't understand why almost all hoods are made in the stupid 90 degree angle, they are useless. Even DJI seems to sell that trash and I think they should know better. I did mine from a black cardboard, just copied the angle from Hoodivision. Works great!
