Day 3 of my new Mini 4. I was shooting at night, so the drone could NOT see, I tried to land, it came down just on the edge of a huge tree. It hit the street. When you look at the drone headon, looking at the camera, the front arm on the left as you are looking at it, has a crack. I have the 1 yr 2 incident protection. Everything seems normal. Can a get a full replacement, or should I wait and see what happening in the next 12 months. Hopefully my brain has more common sense when landing.

Hi. Sorry about what happened to your drone. For your flight safety, I suggest sending it for repair if you want to claim for warranty and you are not in a hurry. Here is the link for the repair request: https://repair.dji.com/us/repair/index.  Once the repair center receives your drone, it will undergo damage analysis and you will receive a quotation (will contain information if it will be covered by the warranty or not), you will have an option to use Care Refresh or proceed with the payment (if not covered by the warranty). Or when creating the request, you can use the Care Refresh right away and it will be immediately replaced without claiming for the warranty. Have a great day.

If its just an arm, its wont cost much to get repaired so might be best off sending it off for a repair and not wasting a Care Refresh.
Open a ticket with DJI and stipulate a repair quote and if it is low, i.e. around the price of a Care Refresh replacement then i myself would then just pay for the repair, you have a choice!

I'm confused about how to get this fixed. I am using Premium express. I have to send the whole drone, they should fix the cracked front arm and send back to me in 2-5 days as they state on the website. They can just bill me and I dont use and claims on my 1 year refresh. I feel like something very bad is going to happen to me and they will charge me for a brand new one.

There could be other incidental damage you are unaware of so I would use one of your Refresh claims so you have a sound bird.  If the cracked arm gives way in flight the bird is going down.  In the future if flying at night, I suggest lifting off from an area with no trees or other obstacles directly overhead.  Wait for a good GPS lock before launching, then use RTH to return home & land the bird.  That way you will avoid a repeat of this incident.

They will assess it, they wont just look at the arm, they will assess and itemise any issues that needs fixing, if its too expensive then use the refresh, if its about the same price as the excess for the Refresh then you might as well save wasting one refresh.

Hi, sbrady. If you select Premium, there is a $65 service fee and a $380 fee for a pre-authorization hold. By selecting Premium. DJI will ship the replacement before receiving the defective product and will hold the pre-authorization on the credit card then release it once the defective product is received from you.

When it says not to use Care Refresh Express for Flyaway, it is because you need to return the defective drone when using the Care Refresh Express, and the $380 will not be returned to you ( if you are using Premium ). About the warranty repair and damage responsibility assessment, it is not needed when using Care Refresh Express as DJI will send you a replacement right away thus doing an assessment will have no use.

I don't see the point in using the premium service unless you are in a mad rush to get A drone back, the normal service appears to be quite quick.

Note you are unlikely to get your own drone back so remove the memory card and battery.

It makes perfect sense.  They are sending you a replacement unit in advance of receiving back your damaged drone.  What if you never return it?  It's just a credit hold preauthorization in the event you fail to return the damaged drone.   If you find it unacceptable then don't select the Express option & wait a few weeks to receive a replacement.

You're correct.....I completely misunderstood the $380 charge. I didn't realize that that was only for the Care Refresh Express. So yes...it does make perfect sense.

Anything can be fixed) Your situation is quite typical and the drone can be easily repaired at a service center. The cost is not very high.

It's a dji mini 3. The controller is a rc n1. It's probably 1-2 weeks old. I mean with a spare part replacement I think it should work but I don't think I'm confident about changing it myself. Can y'all fix it?

Did you buy it brand new in a sealed box etc. and did you have to activate it?

read the instructions lower down that page, copy the .txt flight log from the phone/tablet to your computer and then upload that log to that webpage.
Copy the URL and paste it here.

You will have found the log in a folder that has the name "FlightRecord", in that folder there will be another folder named MCDFlightrecord.
Open MCDATFlightRecord, it should contain .DAT flight logs, assuming it does, look for a file whose name contains a date & time stamp that is similar to the date & time stamp in name of the .txt flight log.
The time stamp in the DAT's name may be in the 12hr clock rather than the 24hr clock, and is some cases there may be a one hour difference in the time stamps but it should be fairly obvious which DAT corresponds to the .txt flight log.
Upload that .DAT flight log to a file hosting website, make its page public and post the URL here.

I am asking for the logs because there is a reasonable chance we will see evidence of the cause of the crash.
If the drone was brand new and if the cause of the crash is a fault in the drone etc. then DJI should repair the drone under warranty and the repair will be FOC.

All I know the drone is brand new. I don't know what happen. And yes, fresh from the factory. I got it from Costco it was a unsealed drone.

So I’ve crashed my mavic, my fault totally, broken gimbal but everything else works, one the feet is broken but the control board is still intact, also lens protector is crashed
It’s older mavic - 4 years old

What do i do, not to mention that fly pack with 3 smart batteries is just a joke, I was recharging one as drone still fly, other two hmm, one have swell up so much I had to put it in the garden, other one just don’t charge
My iPhone 6 is still working, even if I only recharge it once a year


As far as I’ve spoke with customer service there is no credit if I send my drone plus accessories back

What do I do, it was 1300$

You need to look for a service, even if it is not official, you don't care, you have no warranty. I have Mavic 2 for 5 years and the batteries are fine, maybe the problem is due to improper storage.
