A couple of Boxing Day blue hour shots.....


Today is known as boxing day,   historically its believed that the upper class would take leftover food, goods, or money and put them in boxes to give out to the poor on the day after Christmas.   Luckily for me we had a lull in the weather that allowed me to get a short flight in for blue hour,  later the winds will reach gusts >45mph.

I've never regretted getting the Pocket2.  The Action2, on the other hand, has been a bit underwhelming.

Great dramatic shots there. Also, I was about to ask whether the name Boxing Day was referring to putting things into boxes or the sport of boxing (as in competitors hitting each other with boxing gloves), but your introductory text explained it perfectly, thanks for that

Giving Tuesday has been created by the not for profit community. The Tuesday near Thanksgiving, they all ask the public to donated towards their causes probably because they  know they don't getvmany donations during the holiday season, because people are spending on gifts and huge dinners.

Yes.  Unfortunately most of the money seems to be used for salaries instead of giving. It started out as a good idea and ha sbecome a money grab for most.
