DJI Have released a new firmware for the Phantom 3 - Battery Charging Hub

This firmware update resolved a single bug.

*Resolve the potential issue of failing to fully charge batteries with long time charging process (longer than 1 week)

To update the firmware download the update tool from here http://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1/download - Its near the bottom called "Charging Hub Upgrader v1.1". I know this is a link to the Inspire download page, ut it seems DJI have not added it to the P3 site yet. I wil change whan it has

EDIT, I have made a video of the process ( even though its easy )
EDIT: 22/09-15 - 09-22-15 if you are state side ) - DJI have released a modified version of the tool that reoslves issues some had updating. Download it again if you could not update before..



To update follow the easy steps.

1:
Connect the charging hup to your computer ( Windows only ) usng the USC cable that came with the Phantom 3
( I will add image later )

2:
Run the downloaded Charging_Hub.exe file.


3:
Once the tool opens, select the "Update" button


4:
Click "Check version". This will show you the version information.

5:
Click "Update". The Hub will be updated to the latest version.

6:
Job done, have a cup of tea

Save firmware update tool but not compatible with the P3 batteries I believe.

I ran into the same trouble when attempting to use a USB 3.0 port on my computer or a USB port on my monitor/keyboard. Try plugging the USB cable into a USB 2.0 port on your computer.

Hi, you can try these steps, and update the result:
First, plug the charger in
Then, connect USB and try.

Somehow I could not add the picture in my original post. The Add Picture button (and all other formatting buttons) are disabled. But I see in this reply box the buttons are enabled and I am going to try add the picture here:

No, it seems it does not work either. The picture address box does not allow me to browse to the picture. Maybe I have a limited user right to post pictures? Who is in charge for this forum?

Windows 8 or 8.1?
If so, do a restart of Windows.
Not a shut down, as that doesn't perform a full shutdown. (Microsoft was attempting to speed up startups - by putting the pic to sleep rather than shutting it down. Doh!)

Very interresting, but when i fire up the EXE it shows "Update for Inspire 1" only without any comment for the P3.

So what´s wrong here ???

I downloaded it and ran it against my P3 Hub last night just to see if there was any difference in the version ( none other than fixing an update issue some had ).. It re-ran the update against my P3 HUB no issues.

I guess its just someone forgot to add the P3 info properly in the tool..

I´ve got a Mail from DJI-support because i opened a Case abaout this Thread and got this Response:
Hello,

I´m sorry for the misunderstanding.

Please do not use the inspire updater for the Phantom hub.
At this time, there is no need to update the Phantom hub. You can safely use it.

There will be a updater software for the Phantom hub, as soon as it is neccesary to update it.

unfortunately i already used the inpire updater on my p3 hub.  does it cause any problems?

No issue with mine.. From what I can tell, its exactly the same firmware wise. The first version even named the P3 in the startup screen. I think the bug it fixes just does not apply to the P3.

Use it / Don't use it.. For the issue t fixes, makes no difference really..

i'm using it and the hub seems fine.
