In Picture adjustment settings I see Noise Reduction that can be set to nevgative values. Assuming 0 meaning noise reduction OFF what do negative values mean?
And if 0 does not mean NR OFF, what value would effectively switch off the NR processing? I prefer doing noise cleaning in post.

I’ve tried unsuccessfully to get an official and definitive response to this and the same with Sharpening. My best guess is that -2 means off because I can’t believe they would add extra noise or softening.

I would set mine to -5 if I could.  Even at -2 there seems to be too much noise reduction.

@DJI Support - it looks like Pocket 3 User Manual is incomplete as it does not cover Sharpening and Noise Reduction seatings at the very least. I am wondering how the product was signed off for release with such lapses.

Can @DJI Support clarify values of both parameters? In particular I would like to know at what settings NR and Sharpening are not applied.

This is interesting topic and how both affect battery life. What settings use less/more processor power.

Negative values.. It.. adds... noise pixels to otherwise clear image? haha

Or is it just +2 +1 0 -1 -2 looks better than 0 1 2 3 4 5? Or what.

any updates regarding the query?
Am I the only one who feels that Osmo Pocket is just another DJI product released unfinished in a rush?

In sharpening you could easily imagine negative = less sharpening and positive = more sharpening.
As for noise reduction well 0 must be default so you can increase or decrease "the reduction"
It won't be a way to adjust how much noise you add, or subtract.
Nonetheless it seems a simple enough question to confirm.
That should not take weeks

Precisely! I am wondering myself why it is taking that long especially that it is clearly DJI fault forgetting to include important information in the user manual.

please tell your managers that such response time is unacceptable if DJI still aims to be a respectable business.

Please do not forget the very question
"at what settings NR and Sharpening are not applied".

Thank you for patiently waiting. We want to make sure we are providing accurate and official responses to any questions. Based on the relevant team, the output of the images by the camera is all processed by each manufacturer's algorithm, which is why there are differences in the images of cameras from different manufacturers using the same sensor. The sharpness/noise reduction value "0" in the Osmo Pocket 3 settings is the initial parameter we set. For the camera, there is no on/off noise reduction function. Have a nice day.

You mean to say that we cannot turn noise reduction completely? But -2 settings would apply minimal damage to the captured video?

Yes, not sure why I need any noise reduction when I'm at 50 ISO.  That's why I think the pocket 2 has more detail.  The 2 didn't have this feature/problem.
