Phantom 3 pro - Firmware 1.4.0.10 fails - no video signal

After several attempts that failed, my DJI GO app tells me that everything is up-to-date. But not a single attempt of update has been successful. The BIP sequence was never correct and all of my attempts finished with a sustained noise.



As you can see in my following video, the controller controls the phantom 3 pro, but it's impossible to have any video signal. Here:
  • I read every official and unofficial thread about the update process
  • I did format my sd card with ExFat and Fat32 several times, before every new try.
  • I did format my sd card using the DJI GO app as well.


Now, DJI, can you tell us how to reset our phantom 3 and start over? Why my DJI GO app told me to UPGRADE while it was optional? Of course i would have wait few weeks before updating. I mean, what do you think, there's a lot of people in my situation and i had to cancel a video contract because of that. Please help, we cannot wait for days you know..

There are many things you could try...leave p3 and RC turned on unplug the usb shut down the app replug Usb and restart app.....Try rebinding the bird to the transmitter.......try a new phone or tab.....switch the camera slider from photo to video mode......just some thoughts

Thanks, I tried this, i tried everything to be honest. iPad, iPhone, check. Photo/Video as well. Since the bird takes off, it means it receives my commands. It takes photos (?) which i can't see live on the tablet since i have no video signal. And it doesn't record video.

DJI, could you answer please? ...

Have you checked the ribbon connector from your gimble to your bird it could be loose.

Im running the latest firmware also and I experienced this yesterday also. I was getting no signal from the phantom. Had to power cycle everything, controller, phantom, phone and then eventually after a while it started working.
Will have to see if problem occurs again. Nexus 5 Android 5.1.1 phone.

Me too. I'm losing work because I upgraded to the latest firmware. Now blank screen - no video feed. I can take video and photos. Loaded them from the SD card to my computer and all ok. But can't fly without the video feed. Checked cables, reformatted sd card, reset everything, downgraded firmware, contacted DJI with hidden log file. Nothing works. Even bought another App called FPV but that also gives me no video feed. Any help would be great before I box it up and send it back to China for months!!!

I am having the same issues now.  I have only flown a handful of times, but on my last flight I got the DREADED DISCONNECTED message on my iOS 6 plus screen.  I went through all of the usual steps, different cables, different phone,ipad, Android, etc, updated all the firmware, downgraded all the firmware, completely killed and re-installed the app.  Now I cannot even get the "GO APP" to let me past the "HOW TO CONNECT" page.

Sent numerous emails, called the support line and not once have they sent me a response on my emails and they simply disconnect me when trying to call because the call volume is too large.   What is going on here?

I don't know my friend.. this is ridiculous. I paid $2000 for a drone rated Pro and NO FREAKING support?! I'm getting tired of DJI and the way they let this problem happen. Professional means work, contracts, clients and our reputation is taking damage..

Return your product would be an option ONLY IF DJI answer your email, right? It's been a week i sent them an email (open ticket on their support page) and no reply, no news at all. I'm not gonna lie, i'm just so pissed right now......

It's not even a joke...

I just had a chat with DJI (at first, i found myself lucky) and they told me that my hidden log.txt file has some problems so my p3p needs to be repaired...

But the worst..

After telling me that, they couldn't help me further! They gave me the same support.email address to open another freaking ticket... So i'm waiting again, in line (how long is the waiting line, we don't know) so i can forget about my drone for a long, long time.

They know that it needs to be repaired... but they couldn't help, like now, like to begin the process

Guys,

I often have disconnect... specially if I fly twice or more straight. I use a Sony Z3. I used to use Samsung tab 3 but right now is out of the question... the app is too heavy. Also, the same disconnect happened with the Litchi app.

Btw, I'm not saying that there is no issue here, just trying to come up with a workaround.

So, I noticed that when it happens, the phone is freaking hot.

When it happens to you, are flying in a hot sunny day?

Please make sure that as little apps as possible are running while you fly.

Apparently, to the OS notices that the USB is making the phone too hot and shuts it down temporary to protect itself.

It's happening to me with everything cold on both my iPad Mini and my Nvidia Shield. I've flipped back and forth between 1.4.1 and 1.3.2 and it's not happening nearly as much on 1.3.2.

I fought with the " No Signal" error for months trying everything I could.  Upgrading and downgrading Firmware with No Luck.  I sent it back to DJI and just received my replacement.  It only took 6-7 Weeks.

Guys,  I don't know if this is directly related to your problem or not, but I was having serious Disconnect problems that usually started within 2 minutes of launch, would connect and disconnect anywhere between 4 and 10 times before it seemed to shut down for about 30 seconds.  The the iPad seemed to reboot or maybe it's the app, but I would get the Trust this Computer? prompt and after that, all would be fine for the rest of the flight.  I made a video of one of the last times it did that. I had not planned the video in advance, so I missed a couple of the disconnects but the video is good enough to see the problem.

One person that seems to work for DJI on Facebook suggested that it sounded like a bad USB port since he had seen 2 others.  I had the HDMI port in hand so I installed that and the problem has not happened for a month now..  I too was changing cables and upgrading over and over.  Though my symptoms are not exactly like what you explain, it seems that there may be flaws in the USB ports for one reason or the other..  Check out this video and see if you recognize anything..  I'm not saying go buy the HDMI port, just that it appears my USB port was bad and the new Ports on the HDMI module are good..

If I'm not wrong, I'm guessing that the P3 has 2 control systems. One is the direct control of the aircraft through stick input and that does not need to go through the USB port to affect the aircraft. Video feed and App controls that affect the flight seem to be between the monitor device/App and the controller and all of that goes through the USB port.  Any error with the USB port could show up a number of ways related to Video feed and program feeds from the Go App, yet direct control of the aircraft may be normal. At least it was with my problem..  The saved video on my iPad had holes in it related to each disconnect. But the video on the SD Card was complete with no errors.

Something I noticed in the title of this thread:  "Firmware 1.4.0.10 fails"  I believe we should be using  Firmware v1.4.0010..   I'm using the version that came in the file:  "P3X_FW_V01.04.0010.bin"   But I believe I saw somewhere that even DJI called it by v1.4.0.10.   I remember doing a double take thinking that 1.4.0.10 was a newer update.  At least, that for the Phantom 3.

I was lucky because when I installed the HDMI port, I was prompted to update the controller firmware through the Go App before I got the message to update the aircraft to Phantom_3_Professional_Firmware_v1.4.0010_en.  I have read that if you update the aircraft to v1.4.0010_en before updating the controller that something gets messed up..  Don't remember the details because when you dodge the bullet on something like that by luck, you don't pay all that much attention.

Another interesting note. I have always updated the RC after updating the bird as instructed by DJI. I don't know if I can downgrade the RC to verify. I can downgrade the bird but I don't think I can downgrade the RC. I really appreciate the info, you've got my head going again.

My problem appears to have been a bad USB port. By adding the HDMI board, it includes a new USB port. I have not had the disconnect / reconnect problem since adding the new HDMI Board to the P3P Controller.  However, I now have a P4P Plus Drone with a few GO 4 App problems. Main problem is that I can't turn OFF the Gimbal Yaw Synchronous Follow feature.  I can turn it off, but it immediately reverses the selection and turns it back on.
