Howdy All,

Picked up a Mini 4K last week and have been going through my drawer full of old Android phones and tablets trying to find one that works with the currently available DJI Fly .apk download.  Just thought I'd share that I found two older devices that still work:

Tablet - Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, model number SM-T713 running Android 7.0

Phone - Samsung Galaxy S10e, model number SM-G970U running Android 12

Howdy.  Yes I previously looked at the official list of supported devices.  

The problem is that DJI's list is woefully short.  

I would gather that most folks who purchase the Mini 4K are on a budget, hence the low-end device purchase.  Who wants to fork out a few hundred dollars for a new phone or tablet that is on the "official" list?  Not me, that's for sure.

I think it is helpful to us DJI consumers that a list of "unofficial" devices that are proven to work is also provided.

Don't know about the tablet but the S10e should work fine.  I used an S10 for years until only last week when I upgraded to an S24.

Hi just got the new mini 4k so I need a phone that works with the Fly app .The compatibility list says Samsung A53 ,I want to check before I buy that this model is correct . My smartphone easily installs the app without tricks but it is not recognized by the radio control. They don't communicate in any way.

Hi, I also just picked up the DJI Mini 4K. I was so excited and looking forward to flying my first DJI drone. I've been flying others so I thought I was ready for a real one. Unfortunately my Pixel 7 Pro will not download the app. I found an old Kindle Fire 10 HD that my kids had. I'm trying to download the app to it but haven't been able to yet. Hope this works or I'm going to have to return it.

Hi there! You may try the below troubleshooting steps which may be helpful:

1) Please clear the your device's cache and ensure that the device has enough storage available (10G or more is recommended). Hard restart the mobile phone.

(2) Check the App version, if the app is not the latest version, then it is recommended to update the app to the latest version. And please clear cache from the app itself for testing  

(3) Download from the official website. Link: https://www.dji.com/cn/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly

(4) Cross test with another compatible mobile device to check whether it is caused by the compatible issue.

Good morning, I'm new to the DJI drones but I've been flying RC planes and small drones for years. I finally stepped into a DJI with a mini 4K. Haven't had good luck with it so far. For starters I have a Pixel 7 Pro and that won't download the app. Last night my wife suggested me trying to download it on her Amazon Fire HF tablet and it did and was able to register it, but. Today this as far as I can get. I've tried everything from checking and charging all the batteries and nothing. I'm trying not to buy a new phone or tablet (because I can't afford it, I'm on permanent disability)so I'm hoping I can use what I have. Help please, thank you.
PS I have three weeks to figure something out or return the DJI back to Amazon.

My 9th gen iPad works but it won’t let me go higher than 100 feet or more than 160 feet distance.

That has nothing to do with the iPad.
You need to sign out of the app and sign in again.

Is the mini 4k really not compatible with an android or am I missing something? The remote and drone are connected but my phone will not..  is dji really that far behind? I keep getting the link to download the same app that is not working.

Hi I have a Tablet that i fly my pro,s with but for some reason wont give me camera in the Fly app for my mini 4k.So i brought the Amazon Fire hd 8 second hand 2022 version for £40 stripped it back using Fire Toolbox and loaded the apk fly app.It works a treat no lag nothing..Hope it may help.

This is what i use,but i did use Fire Toolbox to strip of certain Amazon features before hand and it works perfectly.Mines a Amazon Fire HD 8 2022 model....
