Hi,

since the new hardshell backpack from DJI suits the iPad Mini only, is there anyone of you that can fit the iPad Air/Air 2 as well? Could you post pictures?

I would stay with the Air/Air 2 but it's very important to fit the tablet inside the backpack.

Thanks!

I put my iPad Air 2 under the foam of the lid/ back. It' s easy, just pops out from the cover.
Thin enough that if shouldn't place any extra strain onto the drones top.
I keep it down at the bottom, so it's mainly above the radio controller anyway.

Works for me.

Take a look at these links:

No Mod, just remove foam -> http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=25491&fromuid=44480

That's my method as well, in link one. Simple, no fiddling or carving.

Your listed link two, doesn't work, 404!!

Link three is interesting, but too much work, for most folk.

simple ways for difficult problems, i'll report to our designers, so future backpacks will have some more space for different sizes of pads, maybe even iPad pro

Will a Pro fit in the Inspire 1 device holder?

I'm actually patiently holding off, & waiting on the iPad Air 3 128GB Cellular...release.

No it will not : the iPad Pro is double the size of an Air !

Thanks to all of you guys! Today I tried to place the Air (not 2) behind the lid, it fits.

Now my only concern is if it's better the lightness of the iPAd Mini 4 (the new one) or an Air 2 (power but heavier on the RC).

Thanks.

It's the best option, placing it under the foam.
Particularly for In the future, should you decide to sell the case for a different Model.
So it's not been altered by hot knives and redesign ideas or techniques. Weakening the structure as well.

Buy an Inspire 1 device holder, and you will be fine.
The iPad Air isn't much heavier than an iPad Mini. Doesn't affect your radio stability, or balance.
