Hi all,
I had planned to share my setup with y'all for a while, so here it is.
I use this to record indoor sports matches that last 2 hours without problems at various 60 or 120fps rates by taping this setup to the wall (we typically have no room for tripods in our sports halls and/or sports combinations). I have also recorded 4k120 for 2 hours without problems with this setup.
What you see in the picture is:
- a cardboard cutout with several parts taped or wired to it:
- a 5V 4cm USB fan on the left that blows into the empty and open battery bay of the Action4 cam and part of the flow goes past the back and front sections where the most heat accumulates (there's a german Action4 review that made a heatmap which I used to find the optimal spots for airflow without resorting to complicated engineering)
- the Action4 camera mounted on the magnetic mount on top of the helmet mount you got for free (taped creatively to the cardboard with some padding underneath for the correct angles)
- at the bottom is a 10k lightweight powerbank that powers it all
Regards, DD
