I updated to iOS 9 without thinking there would be an issue but for the first time since i got my P3P i have picture freeze and loss of picture in the DJI Go ap even when i am beside my P3P. I hope there is an update for DJI Go very soon as iOS 9 is going to be here for a while. I even tried to roll back to my iOS 8.3 which was ok but not possible as it seems apple have closed iOS 8 off.... Please DJI it in your hands now!

Buy an iPad Air 3 128GB Cellular. That's what I am upgrading to, too.
When ever it gets released... ;-)  That will be the best device... With an A9X CPU.

I can't fathom why people would upgrade to 9 when you have a fully function system. That's not just a minor hotfix.. it's a whole new "number"... as in 'version'. Unless you have another more important app that NEEDS to update... why are people updating to 9 so soon?

I'm glad you guys are 'paving the way for us'... but just think of all the things updates break in normal life on other systems.

1st day out and update? Never!!!

Diid you backup your iPad with iTunes before upgrading to iOS 9 ? This is the only way to go back to the previous version (http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/16/downgrade-ios-9-back-to-ios-8-4-1/)

I updated my iPad Air to iOS 9 and, as the rain decided to stop yesterday, I made a quick test flight to check my new battery, carbon reinforced props, video settings and iOS 9. Just before takeoff I had a black screen during 1 second (no red signal on top of the screen). Made a short flight (10 minutes, max distance from RC was 300m) and everything was fine.

Be sure to deactivate a lot of things in the spotlight setting on the iPad : this drains a lot of battery and processing power in iOS 9.
Also don't forget to kill every app from memory.
When I'm on the field, while the craft is warming up, I load the map (cellular iPad) and once it is loaded I put the iPad to airplane mode. I also put my iPhone which is usually in my pocket to Airplane mode.

Because most iOS users are used to update very quickly and massively. And because DJI guys here mentioned here there was no problems with iOS 9 (I asked on this forum a few weeks ago).
I use my iPad for work and iOS 9 gives me some interesting features so why not upgrade...

Same here, ive never had any frozen screens or pixelation.
After iOS 9, random freezes and pixelation.
They are only brief, but annoying. App keeps running, no crashes.

No issues here either. P3 Advanced, iPhone 6 64gb, iPad Air 2 WiFi 64gb.

I do have a problem with 2.7K (jerky FPV and recorded), but  1080p is fine.

Never had any firmware problems either

Same here. For the first time in since May I lost connection to my P3 - after a 18 min flight and when it was only a few meters away. It took about 5 seconds to reconnect.

OK so heres what i did..... to see what happens????
completely wipe the iPad mini 2 in iTunes setup as new iPad.
This erased everything and got me to factory setting but still on iOS 9.
Do a clean install the DJI Go app and set everything up like first day.

So then i went flying..... the video feed dropped out twice but only for a couple of seconds and came back again.
The 6 min flight went fine other than the two drop outs.

NOT A FIX.... but seem to be a bit better than before where the signal was lost for up to 8 seconds multiple times even before take off which was scary!

This is  incredible. DJI-Tim just posted this in another thread regarding issues with iOS 9:

"BTW, just got the information that DJI GO is not  perfectly compatible with iOS 9, so don't be hurry to upgrade"

http://forum.dji.com/thread-31506-1-1.html

I just orderd a P3A to be delivered today and I have an iPad mini 4 with iOS 9 coming in a few days. So, I guess I just sit around until DJI decides to get around to making the GO app work with an operating system that they knew was gong to be released for a long time now.

I am finding the incompetence of this company more astounding every day.

While some say iOS 9 is ok many of us have noticed problems with iOS 9. I just rolled back to iOS 8.4.1 (even though i was on 8.3 with 'No' issues) and advise holding off upgrading your iOS 8.x to iOS 9 until we have update to the DJI Go App with full iOS 9 compatibility. DJI have got it right with recent firmware and app updates...well done guys. This apple iOS 9 seems to be a problem better to stay clear of problems.

Here's the FINAL PROOF.
I downgraded my iPad mini 2 to iOS 8.4.1 and 'abracadabra' No more problems, back to 100%. No issues with video feed or connection. I even walked around the back of my house with no signal loss though many concrete walls.
Stay clear of iOS 9 guys!
Maybe DJI could put a sticky 'NOT TO UPGRADE TO iOS 9' for now anyway.

I would hold off upgrading to iOS 9. I had severe loss of connection under iOS 9 and rolled back to iOS 8.4.1. iOS 8.3 was the most stable and best but apple wont let us downgrade to this version. Try restoring to new device and reinstall the DJI Go app.

To be fair to DJI they have got it right with recent firmware and Go app. I have had zero issues to be honest. I guess they can't know how a new iOS will impact on their Go App. I'm guessing no app developer could know that. Its probably more apple not to LEAP to far ahead which causes us to back pedal. My iPhone has got extremely slow since upgrading to iOS 9. Think I will roll this back too.
I'm sure DJI will have an update soon as iOS 9 will be here for a while.

For those having issues with iso9 please sync your flights and then fully remove the app and then reboot the device. Then install once again. The GO app isn't officially supported but we have many users using it without issues.

I just called Apple Care and there is no way ''legal'' to downgrade iSo9 down to iSO 8.4.1.
Your iPad warranty will not be supported by Apple.
So we are in some trouble here for those who have the iSO9
How quick DJI will fix this problem ?
I have advise Apple about that.

Hi GQ, I think you can legally restore your iPad to 8.4.1 at the moment - at the time of me posting this, that IPSW is still signed by Apple, so it will be recognised by iTunes. I think the advice you received is incorrect. Maybe try ringing Apple Care again and speak to another representative to confirm and reassure you.

I'm afraid they're wrong, Apple are currently still allowing you to do it and it doesn't invalidate your guarantee, at least not as far as I can see. Apple's own software facilitates you in doing it after all, as long as the IPSW file is current and is still signed by Apple. I appreciate you aren't going to take my word for it, but restoring to 8.4.1 at this moment in time is still valid and you do not need to jailbreak your device or anything like that. See the helpful earlier posts in this thread who provide links with instructions.

Just flew 2 batteries with my P3P with no problems.  I using an iPad air with wifi only and iOS 9.  I did close out of all my apps and put the iPad in airplane mode.  Everything seemed very normal - went out 2000 feet and up to 400 feet.  No probem with the map either.  The flight showed over the cached map while flying.  In flight records the red arrow will not move, but the flight path turns yellow as the Phantom moves across the map.
