The Maze.....


Id assumed this would have been bigger. .  SWMBOd had it solved like a guineapig in no time.

She was round it in split second,  then she slipped between the posts to get out leaving me behind.

She did have the car keys as they were still in the water proof case as we'd just walked 2.5 miles out into the thames.  

Kind of defeats the purpose if you can look through...

I guess at low tide you can walk quite a long ways out into the Thames.

It's actually deceiving to do on the ground,    and it is for little children too.

We hit about the limit,   on a lower tide day we might have got another 1/3rd of mile further.     Growing up you could get much further but they have dredged this area to death.

Interesting how shallow the Thames can be in some places but very deep in others.  I'm assuming the sandy bottom tends to shift a bit as the tide comes in and out.

They seem to non stop dredge it.   Even when we were out there.

I guess they are just ensuring that it doesn't hamper marine traffic.  Are they carrying off the dredged material to a different location are placing it some other place?

I have no idea,   but plenty of ships passed by whilst they were working.      Insane how they still move container ships there now at low tide,  that never happened when I was a kid.

Most container ships have a very deep draft so I'm guessing that the part of the Thames they navigate through has been dredged out fairly deep.  

That is a very nice top-down Those shadows somehow compliment it even more. Ten points for this one

I was looking on OpenSeaMap but it doesnt show the depths or speeds in that area
