Hello Folks

I'm new to drone photography (but love it so far) and these forums.

I have the following setup (all with latest firmware, afaik):

Phantom 2 V2
Zenmuse H3-3D (with ribbon type USB cable)
Gopro Hero 4 Black

...and I have added the following FPV system...

Immersion RC 600mw Transmitter
Flysight Black Pearl RC 801 Monitor
Cable for connecting them

The FPV system only returns a black (not fuzzy) screen when the drone and camera are turned on. If I turn off the drone, the screen goes fuzzy. If I change the channels on the transmitter and receiver, the black screen goes to that channel. I am pretty sure that the video transmitter and the black pearl and communicating with each other, I attached a video to illustrate,

so that means that the problem is either of these...

A) The cable doesn't work.
B) Gimbal and its connection to the drone are not transferring the video signal. (least likely)
C) The gopro is not outputting video through the usb.  

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Is it true that Hero 4's have problems with video output through USB? I believe that my H3-3D is the v2, the one with the ribbon cable, is there possibly a problem with that?

I had the same problem. In my case it was a faulty plug-n-play cable I bought. After I soldered all the cables myself it worked like a charm. The GoPro 4 BE should work with your setup.
