Hello all,

Yesterday I tried out a new Phantom 3 Advanced, and ran into some issues with the video.

When in high contrast situations (filming the sunset for example) black vertical lines are visible on both video and pictures. (see attached images, 16:9 is video 4:3 is picture)
Also, where the lines show up on overexposed parts of the image, on the dark parts there are white dots (flickering like hunderds of people taking pictures with flash)

At first I thought it was a overexposure warning (as it was showing on the connected tablet too), but they also show up in the recorded video and images.

I searched on this forum and found the following thread:
http://forum.dji.com/thread-30278-1-1.html

Aside from the bickering on there, the problem described is the same as mine.

Does anybody have a clue? Would hate to have to take it in for servicing.

Go in your settings in DJI GO app, it is the over exposure index. You have to disable it.

Did you do what's recommended in the other thread, i.e. does it show on both JPG and DNG files or just the JPG files?

Well, I did not check it yet, because I only discovered it after flying, and it became too dark for another test run.
But it shows on the video, as well as the images. That should indicatie it is not a problem with the JPEG processing, right?

Agree to an extent, but I think the more information we can get the better. Even if it's just to rule out some options.

It is the OVEREXPOSURE warning.

It is the OVEREXPOSURE warning.

Thank you for the input, but it is not.
Those lines look different, and do not show up on the recorded image/video.

You may be right, but I haven't actually proven that.  I didn't think they would show on the recorded image either, but I have seen at least a half dozen other 'diagnosis' of the same problem for other people blamed on overexposure.  You may be right.  I was repeating what others have said.  Apologies.

So apparently it is a common problem?
Hopefully there is a known fix!

Firstly... where are you getting the image/video?? Is it from the phone's cached gallery or directly off the card's DCIM directory??
Is this IOS or android (android does not have overexposure setting).

I am pulling the image/video directly from the SD card.
And it was testen on an android tablet, but I do believe that it has nothing to do with the kind of mobile device that is used.

If you want a sensible answer - you will have to contact the technical team and send them the video for analysis - they may advise returning it for repair - take heart my repair took 8 days from home to Germany back to home. But let the technical team diagnose the problem first.

Thanks for the input, I'll make a ticket!
Still I'd like to hear the experiences of people on here.
