It seems some identical configurations differ in the results. Some work like a charm and others have problems. The most common problems seem to be blocking and freezing of the FPV although other problems have cropped up as well to a lesser degree.

If we all have followed the recommendations for settings from DJI and we all have a sufficient amount of memory on our devices and we have all the same  up-to-date software and operating systems then I wonder if the problems could be related to other applications we have installed? I am grasping for straws here.

I thought I would post all my settings that I think may make a difference and see how I compare to others.

Please see if I have anything set wrong let me know

Device… iPad mini2 16GB cellular enabled

IOS... 9.20

DJI Go…2.3.0

Aircraft…1.4.10

RC…1.3.20

Hmmmm should the aircraft and RC be the same?


IPad mini settings

Airplane mode…on
Background refresh…off
Usage available…5.4GB
All apps closed before flight

DJI Go settings

I performed a cold calibration of the IMU after 1.4.10 update
Compass calibration in new area and  sensor check before each flight…compass is always a little above 1500
I have tried Hardware Decode both on and off with no difference in performance.
Cache Map in Background… On
Video Cache.. Disabled… I tried both enabled and disabled and got a little less blocking with disabled when using 2.2.0 I have it disabled for 2.3.0
Before the flights I cleared the video cache memory anyway
VPS… off
HD channels set to… Auto But I did try setting to manual… then channel 20... Then I could adjust transmission quality from 6 MPS 1.24 miles down to 4 MPS 1.86 miles. This did help but not eliminate the video blocking when using the DJI Go version 2.2.0 but I have not tried it with 2.3.0 which I have set to auto

I am sure I am forgetting something… please ask and I’ll tell you how I have it set. I made two flights with the setup above... The first had no problems... the second at the very end of the flight I had some screen blocking and a short two second screen freeze... so still some problems it seems.

P3 ADV. iPad mini 2 9.0.2 with current Go app uninstalled then reinstalled. VERIZON cellular on or off seemed to make no difference.  turned off HD video hardware decoding and the blocked up green smear screen feed went away after trying all else. Including what was posted earlier that helped marginally when I tried it yesterday:
1. Set Video Cache to "Disabled" 2. Set Auto Cleanup Video Cache to "ON"  3. Manually clear Video Cache before each flying.
All of which is still just as suggested here.

After messing with this for 5 days, today I turned off hardware decode (General settings under "HD") and it seems fine here on the ground. No green, no blocky bits.
Will try to fly next.

Isn't hardware video decode simply for streaming on the fly to YouTube and such?
I believe that with the last go app upgrade, this hardware decode function was on by default. Some iPads, especially the minis (1, 2 and 3) are less powerful than others.
Hence the variety of results. ?

1.3.20 is the latest for the RC.  1.4.10 applies to aircraft only.  Some posts on PhantomPilots.com suggest that installing GO 2.3.0 AFTER installing iOS 9.x, or deleting and re-installing GO, have solved the problem for them.  So it would be helpful of those posting their experiences here, good or bad, would specify whether they intalled GO 2.3.0 before or after the iOS upgrade, or whether they deleted and re-installed.

Thanks mike... I should have mentioned I did delete and reinstall DJI Go 2.3.0 through the app store before I made the first flight with the 9.2.0 and 2.3.0 setup. I did this because DJI neglected for several days to change the IOS update listing from 2.2 to 2.3 even though they had changed the software... so I wanted to be sure even though the app had automaticly updated itself.

Took my P3 Pro out again today. Burnt thru 2 batteries and was very brave and flew to 300 feet altitude and 1500 feet distance without any problems, also a very windy day. The only App loaded is Go App 2.3 that I loaded immediately after purchasing iPad.

iPad Mini 3   8.0  Brand new with nothing else loaded on it. Use for my P3 only.

Video Cache is ON  I haven't been clearing before each flight.

I was experiencing random "signal disconnects" on my ipad air2 after updating to GO 2.3 and 1.4.10 on AC.
Yesterday I deleted GO 2.3 and reinstalled again.
Still running IOS 8.4
Flew 4 batteries today without a problem.
So who knows what caused my problem, but reinstalling GO 2.3 appears to have worked for me.
So for the time being Im happy again.

I have been noticing that many have good successes and many are still struggling. It's difficult to predict the success rate. It's high time that DJI give us their feedback and stop this uncertainty and anxiety. We would be happy with the intermediate solution if that safeguards our Aircrafts. We will wait for the final solution. I'm sure DJI will be in a better position to analyze with their better debugging tools. Should we expect a reply from DJI? So far I have not seen any?

4 weeks now of IOS 9 issues... picture randomly cuts out. DJI still says nothing about a FIX. I have reinstalled Go app numerous times.

I shoot football with it and I am never more then 80ft in the air and never further then 120ft from the Phantom3.

I am using the Ipad mini 2 and bought it specifically for the Phantom after trying several other tablets.

The Phantom was working perfect as I shot with it for two months before without issues.

NOW I WAIT FOR THEM!!!! When DJI!

Would not recommend DJI products and will never purchase from them in the future. WEEK 4 and counting!

You can downgrade the GO app if you have a PC and haven't cleaned out the Recycle Bin since app upgrade.  Look for DJI GO 2.2.0.ipa in the Recycle Bin (or whatever version you were using).  Delete DJI GO 2.3.0.ipa from wherever your apps are located.  In my case it was under Music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Mobile Applications.  Then restore the old app from Recycle Bin. Then sync your ipad or phone in iTunes.  You may have to click Install for the app in iTunes before sync.
No good way to roll back the iOS, however.  2.3.0 was supposed to be the version that fixed compatibility problems with iOS 9.x, so I'm not confident that rolling back the app will help you.

My P3A is also unflyable due to app crashes and video cutouts. Tested with iOS 9.0.2 on an iPad Air and iPhone 6 and 2.3.0 (fresh installed). To make matters worse, I switched from Android (Note 4) to iOS primarily to get away from DJI GO instability and now I have the same problem again.

I'm surprised at the lack of response.  There is a substantial amount of money in these things...and I'm sorry but when your eyes give out (the app crashes) it can lead to bad things.  If you don't have an answer yet...fine...but at least say something.

Two mornings of consecutive flying with issues each morning.  2.3 Go App installed with iOS 9.02.  This is getting worrisome that they haven't fixed this yet.  It's been weeks now since they identified a problem.  I'll try reinstalling the app to see if that works but constantly losing video signal, followed by an app crash.  I do a lot of open water and marsh flying.  If it fails, I'm not getting it back....

clean boot, airplane mode, everything off including compass calibration detection. (the app still crashes even with any or none of these combinations activated.

Under The "Diagnostics" tab u der"privacy", there are detailed crash reports, describing the problem as, among other things, "EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION". I have enabled sharing error log reports with the app developer.  Hopefully DJI finds a solution soon, otherwise my P3P stays grounded.  
My dealer has advised all others local.y to use Android devices i stead which is obviously not ideal.

I flew 3 batteries this morning on my P3, with the latest and greatest APPs and os;   

iPad Mini 3 Wifi (128gb) with 9.0.2 ios.
GoApp 2.3

I had no disconnects, and the video feed was significantly improved.   I even used Point of Interest and other features, and all worked without any problems.   

I had considerable issues with the LAST GoApp version, including a completely useless video feed, and at least one disconnect per battery.   This was my first test runs with 2.3.

With my set up most problems seem resolved.

Finally upgraded to ISO 9.0.2 after downgrading from ISO 8.4, reinstalled the Go app. Turned on airplane mode, turned off background app refresh and have flown several flight as far as 1 mile to mile and a half. Good results, some loss of video and controller at times but is only due to the distance and interference issues (power lines etc.) originally my app crashed but I backed up my flight log, removed Go app and reinstalled after the ISO 9.0.2 update. I am on an iPhone 6. Keeping fingers crossed.  Safe flying

Two flights today. All the latest updates on iOS and DJI. IPhone 6+. Went out 5300 feet on both flights   On first flight I didn't experience lag or pixelation until I hand landed. Maybe I covered up the vid antenna with my hand. Second flight got lag and freeze several times. DJI needs to get their shit together. Used to go 15000 get out with no problems at all

Here is what I have experienced. I have an iPad Air and iPhone 6s + with the latest iOS. Some days I never have a problem. I can fly through 4 batteries. Some days within 1 minute I get the "Disconnected". I obviously can still fly and take pictures, but I have no control of the camera or advanced flight features. VERY frustrating.

ok so maybe they ( DJI ) are keeping count so here's my take  - all software and app is updated to current, I use a I-phone 6plus.
   have been flying on and off for last 3 weeks with getting major pixilation while in the air, so I kept my air time to a minimum and close to take off point.
today went out disconnected 3 times but came right back, and also had pixel break up more than ever.
Trying to be patient ( like I have a choice ) but as everyone is saying something has to happen, seems unfair that they don't even put a update on the form to confirm the issue and that they are working on it.
   I love this thing and would love to try flying to get some of the beautiful foliage before the snow fly's here in the green mountain state !  .....   maybe next year
If they did that as least we know you all are being heard.

GOOD or Bad, those of us that spent thousands of dollars on your product want to know what is going on with your efforts to correct the issues.  

I just purchased this P3P and associated components less than two months ago and would like a refund on my purchase if you can't provide a flight control application that works as advertised.  Please advise.

I just looked again at the reviews of 2.3.0 in the app store.  Out of 16 reviews, two hadn't flown yet so they don't count.  So out of 14 meaningful reviews, 11 are reporting problems, mostly crashing or freezing.  One was saying the app freezes when it is writing a picture to SD card, which might actually be normal behavior.  I had been thinking that people who don't have problems are less likely to write reviews than those who do, but then how do so many other apps get 4 and 5 star reviews.  So I still believe the percentage of problems with iOS 9.x and DJI GO is far from insignficant.  
I accidentally updated to 2.3.0 last night.  Two apps were showing on my list to update, DJI GO and another.  Just as I tapped on the other app to update it, the list refreshed and now showed 5 apps, and the order changed so that I accidentally tapped on GO app.  Knowing that I have a backup copy of 2.2.0, I decided to give 2.3.0 a try and it flew fine through 2 batteries this morning.  
Buit I am still on iOS 8.4.1 and will remain there until I hear positively that this was resolved.

DJI has noticed the issues reported by us, they are working on them. It seems issues are not that easy to resolve and is taking long time.

This is an excellent news for all of us as we expect a working solution in a near future and we will be confident of flying P3 again
