I'm beginning to practice Manual Mode of the DJI Neo. I had a slight bump on the ground but the drone remained airborne. I then realized I had no throttle control.  This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.  Note near the end of the clip the throttle is 100% down yet the drone is still flying.

It's interesting that in 3 days no one from DJI has commented on this post.
This throttle control loss happened to me twice.  The first time in my house after the drone lightly bumped into a piece of furniture and then tilted with the top of the drone pressed against a wall with the motors spinning keeping the drone vertical.  I tried to kill the motors with the control sticks but that did not work.  I then grabbed the drone, with spinning motors, and turned it upside down.  That did not stop the props.  I then tried the control sticks once again.  I had this uncontrollable drone in my hand for up to 1 minute.  I then switched the flight mode to SPORT MODE which stopped the props.
I assert that there is a serious control bug in MANUAL mode. If the drone detects an impact in manual mode the software should stop the props. Presently it does not.

That is a concerning issue.
Sometimes we miss something obvious.  Assuming you calibrated the sticks?
Have you activated the emergency motor shut down?  When you switched to S and then N mode did you try to manually stop the motors?

Bit off topic. But a throttle issue.Using the FPV RC3.    Cannot shut the motors off in N or S mode by using the sticks.  Neo needs to auto land and auto motor shut off.  Manual mode the start stop switch works for shutting down the motors.  Also, even with the emergency motor shut down activated. No motor shut down in N or S mode.

Thanks for the info.  Right now I'm away on a trip, I'll have to test it when I get home.

As I posted, I had a complete loss of control outside while flying the drone with my phone. Once it started going wild it was nearly
impossible to do anything but try and bring it down quickly and even that was taking forever.

Same problem, very tricky to fly indoors or touch floor in manual. Just not able to switch off the throttle. Hope that will be fixed soon, bought drone just to practice in manual.

I just watched a video with a bloke flying the Avata2 in manual mode with the goggles 3, he was doing some really good acrobatic flying, twice he hit the ground, the drone reported impact detected - but bounced back up and he continued to fly just fine.

If these drones shut the propellers off with every impact it would ruin the session.  Perhaps a toggle switch in the app, to enable / disable would be a good work around.

OP, maybe a defective Neo?
Issue resolved?

Have a few hours now flying in all modes using the FPV RC3. Manual mode still has ATTI engaged and with the Max rates and center sensitivity tuned more mellow.  So far, only one crash in S mode. Motors auto shut off. In M mode needed to double tab the start/stop button.  But no issue with loss of throttle control.  Still non-functioning motor cut by stick input in N and S mode.  No emergency motor shut off even though the toggle is set to engage. It is still either auto land in N and S mode or crash to shut the motors off or switch to M mode and use the Start/Stop button.  I can live with the issue.  Your loss of throttle control is a situation that would have me more than concerned.

The normal modes work as expected.  Right now I taking the Neo on a trip around the world.  It's a great machine for travel filler shots.

"I assert that there is a serious control bug in MANUAL mode. If the drone detects an impact in manual mode the software should stop the props. Presently it does not."
Unfortunately I experienced the same, when I started to fly in M-mode and crashed. See my thread "How to stop motors immediately when crashing in M-mode?" Didn't realize the possibility to double tap the start/stop-button then, but will try that to stop the props when the next crash happens (for sure it will :-).
The more I fly the NEO, the more I'm getting a little bit anxious about its behaviour. Flying in N- or S-mode indoors there is always the chance that it gets uncontrollable and flying in M-mode and crashing won't stop the props immediately. Not good at all.....
