Hi all,

I ordered an Avata 2 Fly More combo on Amazon(.es). As far as I could tell, from the DJI store and fulfilment was done by Amazon themselves.
So, about an hour ago, the package arrived in a parcel box. I went to pick it up quite excited (I had just passed my A1/A3 test and bought a DJI Neo a few days earlier, so was excited to test the goggles/remote with the Neo).

In the Amazon box, was the DJI package, in its plastic foil, all looked normal. After removing the foil, there's a small sticker/strip with a green arrow, to open the box itself. Did that, and noticed the box was still firmly closed. I figured it was a way to prevent people returning opened items, although my Neo didn't have this. Used a knife to pry open the box, then noticed there was expanding foam on top. Seemed weird, never saw this before, but it's an expensive product, so who knows. Started making pictures as it was a bit too odd.
Anyway, long story short: the box is completely filled with expanding foam, no drone to see.

I contacted Amazon support, but they will contactact me back in 24-48h, so I'm a bit afraid it won't be a very smooth process.

It seems very similar to this thread, which was also a drone from Amazon.es: https://forum.dji.com/thread-303463-1-1.html
I see another user at the bottom with the same issue, but without details. He's from Poland, where I am too. I ordered from .es, as there was a promotion and the price with pretty good compared to usual (~825 eur for the 1 battery fly more pack)

EDIT: I just noticed in the other topic, that the "LPN" label on the plastic wrap means it has been returned before. Mine has the same label, so my theory that someone ordered, replaced the contents and sent it back, might be right.

A picture of the contents of my box :')

Something similar happened to me with an Air 3 Battery which was directly shipped from the biggest german electronic retailer.
Inside I found only a bunch of balancing weights for car rims...
Box was perfectly sealed on top, maybe somebody opened from bottom.
I wonder if this already happens in DJI Factory or their production contractors.

How easily did you get your money back? Amazon asks me to file a complaint with the police (and no mentioning of refunds). I need to take time of work for that, and hope that someone speaks English, as I only moved to Poland last year

I just sent the pictures to "MediaMarkt" and got my money back on same day.
That's strange that Amazon behaves like this.

BTW, have you checked the Serial Number here: https://service.dji.com/device/search?re=au&lang=en
Would be interesting if somebody activated the drone already

I contacted DJI support to check, it's not activated yet. The drone comes with remote/goggles/battery, these parts alone are 700-800 eur, so they don't even need to recover the drone to make a good amount of money on it.

I would suspect your package was also something that has been returned, it would really surprise me if it happened before it got into the warehouses of the stores. While at a sorting center could be possible too, although they would have a lot less time to do all this.
For the return of money, it might also depend on the value of the product, they'll probably go easier on cheaper packages.

Well, it's the DJI store on Amazon (in this case, it was https://www.amazon.es/stores/DJI/page/6D6D8725-69AC-452C-B554-E91E3435F849), I'm not sure how closely affiliated they are to DJI. I order regularly on Amazon, haven't had anything like this before. A missing/wrong item, possibly, but that was always handled very quick.

One of many reasons to never order from Amazon. It might be an "official" DJI Store as in DJI selects what's sold and at what price and they provide the stock, but if it's fulfilled by Amazon, there's a very good chance a thing like this can happen because people often abuse Amazon returns since they do such a terrible job actually checking things and then some other poor customer ends up scammed. Sorry this happened to you, but I'm not sure there's much DJI can do apart from making sure that the drone with that serial number is deactivated. Hopefully Amazon does their job this time, but all I can say is good luck as I'm still waiting for a refund on a legit return they lost 4 years ago.

Hi all, small update:
Amazon ignored me until I filed a police report. That was quite a fun experience too, as I don't speak the language and had to take a friend with me to translate and the police was very unwilling to file a report ("yeah, nothing was stolen, you received it like this", "you need to take it up with amazon", "you need to file a complaint with the spanish/german(warehouse) police",...) after getting getting angry and making clear i wasn't going anywhere without a report, they made one ("but nothing will be done with it").

Anyway, after mailing the report, I got a notice that my money would refunded within a few hours.

In the meantime, the drone was cheaper again, so I decided to risk it again (what are the chances you get scammed twice with the same product in the same store, right?) and this time filmed everything, from opening the parcel locker to opening the box. And you guessed it: the box also had the lpn label (which seems to indicate it's a return) and just the same problem. This time the box was filled with a water bag to give it some weight.
Opened a ticket again with amazon, about to file complaints with the CC company as backup. Trying to avoid going to waste time at the police again, so I'll wait for the response of Amazon, but I fully expect to get the automated response again.
I'm thinking of letting it play out with the customer rights help in Europe this time, but not sure yet.

So if you see a serious discount for an item on Amazon that you don't see on other retailers, I suspect they handled a return. Avoid ordering expensive items like this. If you do, film everything and be prepared to waste a lot of time.

Amazon lets anyone sell anything. They really have lost control and you unfortunately experienced the results.  That's really beat!! Amazon should have to buy  you one.

The other day they offered a Pocket 3 creator combo for something like € 300,- on Amazon and it was also a scam. Not from the DJI shop btw.

You don't learn from your mistakes, do you? ... maybe third time's the charm?
