I thought hard and long about the Neo, especially since I could fly it without goggles but then that would take some of the functions away from it that it was designed to do.

It's a tricky one for sure.    If I go for it I'll go drone only which limits me to fly with the goggles only,   its a shame they didnt support the DJI RC controller for it as well.

It seems they aren't making any new drones backwards compatible to the previous RCs.  I'm surprised DJI hasn't come out with a RC Pro 2 yet with occusync 4.

I wonder if they would sell enough to make it worth while for them,    the RC2 controller does 99% of the Pro for most people,  and it's hard to justify the purchase.

That's a good point.  I just like the RC Pro better because it has a much brighter screen, more powerful processor and you can download Apps to it whereas I can't on the RC2.  I really dislike the internal antennas on the RC so I'm glad they went back external on the RC2.

Id love to see a brighter screen too,  but I tried apps on the RC and never used them,   and went back to booting straight into the Fly app for speed.    Sadly I cant compare the internal vs external antennas but the Mini 3 out ranges my M2P and smart controller.

Occusync 4 on the RC2 plus external antennas gives much better signal strength.  Maybe the Mini 5 Pro will have Occusync 5 as well as the remote controller that releases at that time also.  Sad that DJI doesn't like to make the remote controllers backwards compatible with older drones.  Makes for a profitable marketing scheme for them.

Yep,   it's really sad we fail to get good backwards compatibility.

It absolutely has to be a marketing ploy to get you to upgrade your gear.

Seems to work for DJI.  I'm trying to find some more info on the DJI Osmo 360 that is rumored to come out within the week.

Good read, thanks for the link.  I found the FCC listing but it didn't tell me a lot about it.

To date none of DJI's cameras have been delayed getting through customs but who knows as the political temperature continues to rise.
