I received the OA5 Pro last week and just finished uploading my first test recording after trying out a few different settings. The video was recorded at 4K / 60 FPS / Rocksteady / Ultrawide / Sport Stabilization / Normal 10-Bit / Auto White Balance / Auto Exposure / ISO 100-6400 / 1/200-1/8000 Shutter / -0.7 EV / -1 Texure / -2 Noise Reduction. The export to Youtube was done using 265 codec with constant bitrate of 80 mbps.

Do you have any recomendations on how to improve the overall quality in anyway? I am going to test next time not using Normal 10-bit and try DLOG-M (and grade) and also Wide FOV instead of Ultrawide. Also not sure if -1 Texture / -2 NR is ideal. Will likely test -2 Texture next time.

Impressive test footage.    I'm wondering if using DLOG-M and color grading might improve anything.

Thanks! I notice some noise at times in the video and not 100% set on the sharpness. I ended up just playing around in post in Davinci with a 2nd edit and noticed there is room for improvement in both noise and sharpness.

I also just watched a video comparing the noise reduction and sharpness in Normal mode compared to DLOG-M mode and they noted there was much less noise in the image in DLOG-M without any additional changes in post.

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your video. On the functional side, it is capable of capturing 4K/60fps high dynamic range low-light images, delicately presenting details in dark areas while preventing overexposure in bright areas, thereby enhancing overall image quality. In extremely low-light conditions, the SuperNight mode employs AI noise reduction algorithms to address low-light challenges, resulting in purer imagery. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our support team. Thank You!

If you are interested in using DLog-M extensively, Tamara Gabriel produced a set of lovely LUTs for it. They work extremely well and she provided 3 levels of correction. More often than not, I use the lowest level which is quite subtle and as you go up, the footage becomes more contrasty. With it, she also produced LUTs for Bluer sky if you want it or ‘Greener’ foliage.

The LUTs were designed for the Action 4 but they’re great as well with the 5. Really speeds up post.

Interesting, I will check out her video with the info, thank you! I definitely plan to give DLOG-M a good try to see if its worth the few extra steps in post. And now extra excited seeing the new firmware update to play with!
