The new firmware has not been officially released yet why ?

Has it not been fully tested ?

Has more to be added ?

Don't often see a grey reveals like this so its a bit strange. Was wondering if there are any noticeable problems with the new firmware.

It might be to get higher bitrate out pre the opposition release inbound, I’ve updated one my cams but due to spending time with the new air3s not had time to try the new high bitrate fully only a couple of quick clips post install.  The additional timer feature is good to see in the menus now.  Sure Fish will be hard at it doing some side by side samples & will share soon enough.

This is how they beta test, if they told us out front on the Mimo App it was Gray/Betaware, would you have loaded, if you have now an issue will they allow  you a prevention back?

I  found I was on  Super Night and Loop, maybe my mistake, I found timer  recording   not the right name or works if you Turn the camera off
I find Never screen on is not 100%  on it dims 60% down., As I am understand how DJI wants their camera set up, not how we want it to be
its working to my personal  satisfaction, how bout you (smiles)

I agree it seems we are beta testers, and hopefully the FW will continue to be refined. So far I have found it pretty good, I’ve noticed a marked improvement with a faster horizon balance bitrate is there now I just need to test so maybe some FPV or ill go for a walk in the woods, ;+)

Just got the air3s myself weather pretty rough today so hopefully get a chance to fly over the weekend.
Will also hope to see if I can get some time with the A5 might stick it on the front of the car and go for a spin.

I guess they released it early to have a better product when the Ace Pro2 is released. After Insta360 confirmed their release date DJI released the firmware the next day.

Well I think to be fair dji had said weeks ago before we knew about ace pro 2 they would release mid October and dji have never been shy to produce new FW.

I did a quick test today and i noticed that for sure the bitrate is there, but there is still this "temporal denoise" that smooths details too much in my opinion.
I attach two pictures. In both Action 4 is on the left and Action 5 on the right.



The first picture is as the footage comes out of the camera, while the second picture has a Davinci Resolve temporal denoiser applied (to both cameras).
In my opinion Resolve does a better job in keeping texture detail, i'd really love being able to deactivate this "denoising thing" on the Action 5 and see what happens.

That said, it seems to me that the new firmware works better than the previous. Sisn't checked for the tearing, it seemed to be still present, but need to check more deeply all the footage.

Fish check out my findings I posted and see if you find that same, I got timer working but only after some tweaking of the camera time setting, definitely a bug we might need push back.

I know the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is being released on 22nd.

But you replied to DAFly's post about a DJI Osmo 360 camera so it looked like you were saying that the DJI Osmo 360 camera was being released on the 22nd as well.

I don't think the release date of the Osmo 360 has been leaked yet so I was surprised when your reply appeared to say it would coincide with the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 (an action camera, not a 360 camera for anyone who is confused by the Insta369 brand name)

Still looking too much HDR... artificial image... so the problem seems to be the algorithm of the image, idk how is possible like dji A4 to have better image than this new A5... i start regret buying it...

As I just shot some  personal comparisons with the OP3,  each camera I have from DJI does a certain thing better, if I want it all, Maybe DJI will just release that camera next year. its really tough to dial  in Perfection
