Be careful as there is a hold supposedly "customs hold" for us USA customers. Both combos show in stock for me and a possible delivery date 10/25. You can find another thread regarding the delay for US delivery.
If you try other retailers like Amazon or Best Buy, nothing shows up. B&H shows pre-order with a delivery date of 10/26 or later.

I ordered a Air 3S Fly More kit on 10/18 and it shows it has already made it to the DHL sort facility in the USA.  I guess it was luck.

DHL says expected delivery today... but still has not left Cincinnati DHL sort center.

Anyone get one from China to the USA successfully yet?

Will do.  Shipment reached Cincinnati DHL sort center (coincidentally, I photographed this sort center 20 years ago... small world) just before 3 pm on 10/20.  5 hours later it triggered a couple of customs related updates - 'Processed for Clearance' and at the same time 'Clearance Event'.

Those terms are pretty ambiguous.  It is now about 1pm on 10/21 and no further tracking updates leading me to believe that the package actually cleared customs or that it has left Cincinnati.

Hello - Is DJI going to provide guidance to US based consumers.  At this point, it appears DJI is selling Air 3S to US consumers with little guarantee they can actually be imported.  The one I ordered is still in Los Angeles in customs limbo.  I provided the additional information and ID requested.  This did not change the status. At no point in the purchase process  did DJI communicate there was a potential issue.  Thanks for any guidance you can provide.  Take care.

DHL has confirmed that mine is in Cincinnati where it has not cleared yet.  They say because it is valued over 800 USD it is subject to more customs scrutiny.  They said nothing more is needed of me at this point.

    De Minimis ($0-$800)– this entry type is part of a consolidated pre-clearance using manifest data

    Informal ($801- $2,500) – this entry type clears customs as part of an informal manifest clearance managed under a DHL bond. Duty payment may be required depending upon the classification

    Formal (Over $2,500) – this entry type requires formal entry process. Shipments are held for separate Automated Broker Interface (ABI) entry. Duty and Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) payment is required

No never had a status like that. There was a temporary hold status, but it was very short lived, only a couple hours. So short that in between checking tracking - it had resolved itself.

Now to get DJI to add the Air 3S to my list of DJI devices. I want my "Core DJI User" status...lol

at this point, i am not sure there is anything DJI can do for individual cases.  it appears they need to provide the US government  with documentation they are following established fair labor practices.

it is interesting. i had been getting consistent updates mostly saying the same thing from DHL.  but i have not received one of these since yesterday morning.

i think some people might have gotten  their orders through before the "suspension" went into place.  i have not seen a verified situation where someone received theirs through US customs since.  but, we will see.   fingers crossed.

btw - this message on their tracking site has been unchanged for 2 to 3 days.

I did an online chat with DHL customer service and they said 3-5 days is typical.  There are three tiers for customs handling...

.01 - 800.00 USD - pretty simple - sail through due to low value.

800.01 - 2499.99 USD - might require individual handling - might not - Maybe China is a red flag.

2500.00 USD or more - definitely requires dotted 'i's and crossed 't's.   

I will keep updating what is going on with mine.

thank you.  it is interesting.  in the messaging i received when they requested specific information,  it said it was being triggered because of the value exceeding $2500 USD.  which is a little strange, because the value was considerably less than that ($1699).  

but this gets into an area where the information is more difficult to clearly understand.  the value of one drone is that...   but when shipping from China to the USA, DHL is utilizing a Waybill and this might include all of the drones they are shipping to the western side of the US in a given day.  Each package within would be individually addressed and labeled.  but the entire Waybill (i think at least) would need to be cleared by customs and then after all the individual packages were cleared, they would all be released.  that may be inaccurate.

i will continue to post updates as i received them.  hopefully, this is just a speed bump and we will all receive them soon.

i still think DJI should be importing these before they sell them to consumers.  i honestly can't remember if my 3 previous DJI drones shipped directly from China or not.

How long should customs clearance take?  I am at 72 hours now in Cincinnati.  Seems like some are getting through quickly but I have not been a lucky one.

well one of three things has to happen:

1.  customs lets it through.

2.  customs sends it back.

3.  they formally seize the package.

if 2 or 3 happens, i will.  outside of that, im willing to wait a week or two to see which of the options occurs.  

it would be great though if DJI would step up and communicate with their consumers. they must be in talks to resolve this. i think the customs suspension is potentially spreading to other DJI products.  and it could expand to their entire product line.

Absolutely zero change in status.  It is frustrating that DJI is not communicating on this significant challenge they are currently facing.  Plus, it looks like they are still selling Air 3S to US consumers without any warnings that they can’t currently consistently import them into the US.  Happy Thursday!
