Hello,

is it possible to fly lower than 30cm with the avata 2 in N or S mode?

i know that if you fly and go over something "small" that is closer to the drone it has no issue with it, but when you want to fly over something a bit bigger/longer it automatically goes up to 30cm after a short while.

i was going thru some kind of tunnel situation, and the drone went up by itself half way in......

tested this going low to the ground but the drone does not want to go lower than 30cm.....

I flew mine into the ground in sport mode because I was flying low. Luckily it was a grassed area and no damage was done except for grass stains. It was a slow rise in the ground so I don't think the drone had time to recognise this.

Well, good luck Bert. Hope you have plenty of Care refresh when you are trying that.

How far does it go before rising up, and have you tested it at different speeds?

I am not doing that at high speeds.... it is for shooting video of machines we make at work, i want to be able fo fly lower to the conveyor belts that run thru them.

is seems like around 5 meters, after that it goes up to 30cm.

i tried some different speeds but not that fast as i was flying indoors.

Yes, but only above a certain minimum speed.  Zipping along our township gravel road and up my driveway in the "red".  15-16m/sec feels like warp 1.  Focused on flying.  Took a look at the recording. Below 0.3m.   A reason not to hover or fly too slow when just above the tree canopy.  I keep it in the "yellow" or higher when the downward sensor detects the the tree tops as the "ground".

The few indoors session are another issue.  Flying too slow at times. Self landing kicks in when ducking under tables.

we want to make nice shots going thru machines we make, but it's always over some kind of conveyor.

Nope, you'll have to use M mode to go lower. And you'll have to fight the ground vortex, which is probably why this limit exists in the first place in N/S modes.

i understand i can do that in M mode, but i hoped there was a way in N/S mode....

i am not confident enough flying thru tight spaces in M mode.... i really don't have much room inside our machines... that's why 30cm i to high, it will hit parts of the machine going that "high"

maybe you could stick a camera with a little stick that goes very low?

Now that's an idea. A GO PRO underneath instead of on top. Good luck.
